Dolphins Draft Pick Set - #12

TheColts did tanked, that's not even up for debate. Next you would be saying prove Roger Clemens used steroids. (Eyes rolling) BTW, I love your avatar, bugs is the best

I don't agree. I do agree about Bugs though. Love my looney tunes cartoons.

hunters awfully raw as a route runner but explosive as heck...i think it will be a few years before you get big return with him...keenan allen i think is ready from the jump...and fits a need...i keep hearing he's a pain in the rear off the field but just about all these wrs have had issues...so i don't know that would deter me...

i don't consider keenan allen a reach at #12...especiallu if he runs in the mid 4.5's or better like i think he will...

mingo would be my #1 target as a pass rush specialist...and i like jonathon banks at cb who would give this team something it desperately needs at cb...ball skills and instincts

it would be one of those 3 for me...banks has serious upside and terrific length...his best footballs in front of him imo

good post. As much as I want a reciever I would probably prefer a cb round one as like you said recievers will still be avaliable in round 2. Smith is a good player and if he was paired with a smart tough CB we would be pretty much set at that position. Personally I would love Banks. I admit I dont know much about him but all I have read sounds pretty positive and he plays in a key position of need.

Obviously if Jake Matthews, that pass rusher Mingo you are so high on or the elite linebacker is still avaliable then they should be considered but I cant see them on the board at 12.

i don't think baileys getting to round 3...but his lack of size measurables will hurt him some...terrific feet though...helps him get off the los...

eiferts probably the first te off the board...somewhere in the #20 range...he's ok in line which means he won't embarrass you when he's out there and he can provide kick out blocks etc when he flows across the los in the running game...and he's the best seam threat and flex te in the class...great size also...i'd say no later than top 25 pick...

ertz is solid and i think a top 50 pick...only thing about ertz is he's listed at 6 ft 6 but he doesn't really play to that size...kind of plays more like an h back on tape to me...not a good te class...a lot of developmental guys you have to sit on...

5 ot's will go in round 1...go ahead and count for it...

the florida back gillislee i'm thinking he's a 3rd round guy...

Well, our pick position is now set at 12.
I agree that the win against Buffalo was totally meaningless. If we had lost that game we would be picking at #9, one spot ahead of the Jets in every round.

Jump all over me with that "you NEVER want to lose" B.S if you want, at this point I really don't care, and applaud the Colts for their balls to do it. They must be still crying over such a terrible year in 2011, not.

All I want is Philbin in, Ireland out, and cull the ineffective areas of the roster.

What the Colts did works out almost NEVER. If the Colts have continued success it won't be because they just got Luck. Besides this situation is a LOT different than getting the #1 or #2. We are talking about #12 vs #9.

Good teams and organizations win year in and year out for a long time without doing this crap. Why do you think bad teams STAY bad in spite of high draft choices for years?

When you have a lot of needs like we do now, the difference in one position is not meaningful.

I'm so hoping that Werner is there at 12 for us but I doubt he will be. Get one of the top WR's in free agency and maybe a TE as well and then we're ready for the draft. Werner would be my top choice at this point if he's there. Honestly, I don't like the corners that will be there at 12. If we move down then maybe a corner but not at 12...just my opinion....as far as WR, again, I don't see one worth taking at 12 at this point tho I might change my mind. If we get one in free agency then no need to take one in the first round but I'd still consider one more WR, maybe in the 3rd round. We need a lot of help. We're not just one or 2 players away like some people like to think......please, if we keep Ireland, I hope he doesn't mess things up........is that wishful thinking tho?

Ozzy rules!!

I'm glad we beat Buffalo ... and I think Bryan Cox said it best with his dual salute. Finishing 2nd in the division is something to build upon, and it also means round 2 of Luck v. Tannehill that I'm expecting to entertain us for a decade.

If you look at the past drafts there are actually a lot of players in that 8-15 range that end up being superstars. If Mingo or Montgomery start using their incredible physical ability they will be talked about like Aldon Smith and JPP, both of whome were similarly drafted in that sort of second eschelon of not quite sure-fire prospects that have drool-worthy physical ability. Jake Matthews, if available, will light up the phones so any trade down will yield another good pick. Guys like Tyler Eifert, Justin Hunter, Cordarrelle Patterson, Xavier Rhodes or any of the great fit players going late 1st/early 2nd (where we have no picks) are certain to be targeted, and if we could get 2 of them for trading down, I don't see how we pass that up.

We finished 7-9 and its safe to say that with a tad better place kicking we'd have finished 9-7 ... not bad for getting the team to buy into Philbin's regime. We stand to have one of the biggest infusions of talent this offseason and can build around a young QB with plenty of ammo.

What's the difference between 9 and 12 ... not sure, but I do know we picked Koa Misi in the 2nd round of the 2010 draft and exactly two spots later in the 2nd round the Patriots selected Rob Gronkowski ... so maybe its less about that spot difference and more about talent (and injury) evaluation.

I think they should take a corner in the first round. I don't really like any of this years free agent cornerbacks and it's too risky to wait till the second round especially since this isn't a deep draft for CB's. There should still be some good pass rushers and receivers available in the second and third rounds though.

If, and this is a big IF, Manti Teo is there do we draft him anyways?

Well, we took Ted Ginn over Patrick Willis because we wanted a speedy offensive playmaker. Hopefully, we won't reach for need and miss on a great player.
