FINS NOT RULING OUT COLLINS, WARNER?

In the wake of a minicamp in which newcomer A.J. Feely failed to make good on owner Wayne Huizenga's prediction that he's the second coming of Dan Marino, there are rumblings in Dolphins land that the team might pursue Kerry Collins or Kurt Warner.

The South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports that Feeley "struggled at times with his accuracy and didn't exhibit a firm grasp of the offense while rotating with the first team." Coach Dave Wannstedt attributed Feeley's performance to the fact that he's new to the system, and that the team also has a new quarterback's coach, Marc Trestman.

With that said, we're hearing that there are locker room rumblings regarding Feeley's performance, and some players believe that the team will (or at least should) consider bringing in Collins or Warner until Feeley is ready to take over.

Implicitly, such sentiments are also a swipe at incumbent Jay Fiedler. The Sun-Sentinel reports that he's the clear-cut No. 1 guy for now, but Collins or Warner wouldn't be signed for the purposes of becoming his backup. Instead, if either of them come to Miami, Fiedler likely will go.

We'd stick with Fiedler and Feeley, since Collins or Warner would experience the same problems as Feeley as they get acquainted with the Miami offense. But what the hell do we know?

sorry if this has been posted before.

Sounds like BS. Why would bring in someone who WOULD BE IN THE SAME BOAT AS FEELEY!?!? That's why he struggled, he's learning a damn new offense. He has to learn the calls, the signals, know where his receivers are and how quickly they get their.

Hell, the Sun article even mentioned that Boston was out of position a lot and that the # spot is wide open because Snoop hasn't shined.

Knowing all that, can you see what ADDED to Feeley struggling? No one is on the same page yet and PFT expects Feeley to be on the mark this early?

Please, you think Dave will go 49-er (as in age), er Warner, or Kerry over his Jay boy? Nope. If Feeley sticks, Jay will start and Feeley will get his shot week 7 when Jay nicks his left pinky.

Damn! Its already starting?? Feeley wasn't insink with the offense, during the first mini-camp?? O my god!!

The Sky is Falling!!!!!!!! The Sky is Falling!!!!!!!!

Please don't take PFT seriously. They should rename themselves Pro Football Talking out of their Butt because that's basically all they do.

I can see where it would get to be a nervous situation, as much as everybody is HOPING AJ will pan out there is nothing saying he will. They already know that they wanted to upgrade from Fiedler so he isn't the answer either. The only other option is to get somebody in that has enough history that you can be sure you have a upgrade at starter.

With AJ it may be just a chance to get settled in and learning the offense or it could be he is actually a backup, problem is if the FO drags their feet and it turns out that he just isn't what they expected they are stuck with Jay as it would be too late to bring in another QB.

Greenfin, you said it, PFT is very weak on inside scoops and very long on pure unadulterated fabrications...

Also, remember that Huard was "winning" the training camp/mini camp race until the season started....

Hell with KC!...whose that chick on ur post Shalafi????

I can't imagine that after all the "research" that Rick did that he would bail on his guy so early. Not only would it make him look bad, it would be moronic. One min-camp can't possibly be enough to throw away his plan and if it is he should never have been chosen for general manager.
