Big whoop. He'll probably be overpaid and there are plenty of other good, but less expensive, CBs in FA.
Why?
The St. Petersburg Times "has it on good authority" that free agent Asante Samuel will sign with the Eagles.
In the last hour, there were all kinds of unsubstantiated reports coming out of Philly that the sides have a deal in place. The Birds may wait a few more hours or (ugh) until tomorrow to announce the agreement formally.
they'd have Asante-Brown-Lito
And they already gave Lito permission to seek a trade and I don't think they want to pay him 5M to be a NCB. They like Sheldon more, because he is better, Lito just battle injuries.

I think Lito is better than Sheldon but thats just my opinion. Yeah there has been rumors of the Eagles signing Samuel and then shipping Lito to NE. I hope not, I want to see that team crumble into misery.
Im with ya. He is a good #2 CB but def not a great #1 CB ! You cant put him in the same class as Hall, Clements, and springs.
