Miami Dolphins are #1 in Red Zone Efficiency (TD %). Are big, tall WRs overrated?

In fairness the running game has been very productive near the goal line especially Mostert. I do think having a tall receiver going forward in Claypool will only help give more options.

Exactly! Wilson TD was because he was a taker type receiver with good length on that slant TD.

DB had no chance once he crossed his face.

Big, tall WRs are often promoted as great red zone targets.

But Miami has been using small WRs, and is now ranked #1 in the NFL in red zone efficiency (TD %), by a wide margin.

Are big, tall WRs overrated?

If you have a precise, extremely accurate QB, it does not matter if small, tall, fast, slow, if you can get open, it's happening.

Miami's speed honestly is very hard to handle, you also bring an effective tall TE that can be a problem in the Redzone, it will make Miami even more dangerous...If that's possible.

Yes. It's one of those trite sayings that get trotted out by fans, but the stats never support it. Some smaller WRs are better in the redzone and some bigger WRs suck in the redzone.

No, they are not overrated, imo - we just have some very special sauce(s) near the goal line.

One has to simply look at how this OL looks compared to last year, with roughly the same players, to get a grasp on that. They're not world beaters, but they look much improved, with a few guys many thought were hopeless.

I believe it’s more Tua than anything else

Using your QB's skill to the max is a real thing... Match your weapons with your QB's strengths. Tua is so unique that this title is far from true, as I don't believe any other QB in the league can operate this offense as is successfully... McDaniel needs props here, if you're able to build an offense that only your QB can run successfully, it's a good sign you're very capable at using strengths and hiding weaknesses of alot of people simultaneously... This is ****ing hard.

What alot of people dont realize is Tua releases the ball out so quickly, that even his feet and body cannot be in the planted and set position (that takes a hell alot of athleticism). But hes always been adament about his footwork. Only the guys, and us fans that have watched him can actually appreciate his hard work.

Its no coincidence that its paying off as he leads the League in alot of areas, but the haters and naysayers will always say any QB can flourish in the system. They have tunnel vision and will never give Tua his credit lol
