Ndamukong Suh - A psychopath and a nut job!

Bryce Petty may disagree with that.

Too be fair this would be only 1/2 a murder :)

Shocked that we were able to snag him....glad he is a Fin....

Well when you offer a guy more money than any other team there's a good chance he signs. Of course despite his stellar individual performance we see how bad our defense has been since we signed him 2 years ago, more points and rushing yards given up than the 5 years prior. Too many subpar players on defense, especially alongside Suh on the D-Line...we've started to fix that problem with Hayes and Harris but we could certainly use more up front.

Bill Romanowksi, Lyle Alzado, Conrad Dobler ... just put that mentality into a 300 pound super-athlete and presto ... Ndamakong Suh.

Hey, mean, physical, nasty players on the field who are gentle giants off the field ... that's the poster child for the NFL.
Most of the younger guys reading this won't recognize those names. Brings back memories of a differant nfl.

Very true! But I tried to think of more recent examples ... and there just weren't many. The NFL has cracked down on so much of that stuff that it's hard to come up with those sort of examples. Newer examples seem very watered down compared to those old guys. Who would the new versions even be? Pittsburgh's Harrison? The old Houston safety JD Swearinger? It's pretty hard to even come up with a list of most hated or dirtiest players these days ... the NFL has gotten a lot more clean and corporate. Not really a bad thing ... but I can't even think of a list of those types of players.

Everyone talked about Lawrence Taylor but I loved to watch Howie Long play the D-line.

He played every single position along the line and was J.J. Watt before there was a J.J Watt. Prior to the early to mid 80's people hardly knew what DE was let alone who played the position.
