I saw it frame by frame. If the ball was any closer to Clay, the DB would have deflected it away. Clay did not do what was required on that play.

I agree that the pass was good.

Clay reached too soon, and slowed himself down. That last half step is important!

He needs to run through to the ball and catch the ball close to his chest.
