Only the Dolphins beat Patriots in December

JT did nothing in 2009 and Zach wasn't even a Dolphin. Henne was in his 1st years as starting QB. We won that day. Research before you post garbage.

Garbage? Does MIA have a rookie QB playing? How about the back end of the defense struggling? Is that garbage?

Here's my point Mr Garbage man, this team isn't the team of JT and Zachary. This team has struggled against the likes of Fitzpatrick in BUF and numb nuts down in TENN. That is garbage.

Luckily I rarely bet on MIA, and won't bet on this game this weekend either. But if I was to bet on this game. I would take the over and NE. Unlike you, I take the beer goggles off before calling my bets in.

As for your quip about Zach not being a Phin in 09, Capt Obvious is in the house people.

yep, 4 in a row, We almost had them in the last one though...

4 in a row huh? Also almost doesn't count in anything but horseshoes. Now that is garbage.

In 2009 our pass defense was 24th in the league and we had the 25th scoring defense.
In 2012 our pass defense is 26th in the league but we have the 9th best scoring defense.

If this back end is garbage then what was the backend in 2009 that did defeat the Patriots and Brady?

Anything can happen in any game. Go ahead and bet your money on NE. You can root for them on Sunday also.

oh man that 21-0 victory in 2006 was awesome. Brady had a pissed off look on his face all game. I loved it!!!

Yep, less than 100 yards passing. That has to be one of the best overall games ever played against the brady led patriots.

This is a non issue. Brady struggled against the likes of JT and Zach Thomas. This year, with a rookie QB and issues on the back end on defense. And this game might get ugly.

Cameron Wake has been fantastic in JT's absence, and our run stuffers are better than they ever where in franchise history. Our secondary was never impressive during the Brady era, and the combo of Dansby-Burnette is not a bad LB core either, so the "replacements" of JT and ZT have fit in fairly well and should not be the issue this game. It will, and always will be the secondary during Brady's tenure.

Our secondary in '09 gave up more TDs. Our redzone defense overall this season (including the secondary) has been pretty solid, If I am no mistaken, we're in the top 8 in redzone defense (possibly top 5) with this unit. The only issue, which is a major flaw, is how many chunk yards the secondary gives up which is why they're rated so low.

I guess you didn't understand my post.

Can't debate someone who just doesn't get it.

Redzone D is actually 3rd in the league this year. Yes, we have been giving up yards easily this year, not so many TD's though.

Wake has done a good job. But JT produced. Damn the holds, JT put up the numbers. And JT did it to all comers. Brady included.

But the secondary has been exposed as of late. The back end of this defense with no pressure from the front four has looked terrible lately. Fitzpatrick and Luck among a few others, have shown the world MIA's problems defending the pass.

I still believe this game will get ugly.

I get it. Our pass defense is bad. But it was worse in 2009 and we still beat the Patriots.
I put time an effort into researching different angles that may apply in the game Sunday.
You put down my research with some quick reaction and negativity.

Have some faith in out team. Brady isn't god!
We hung with them both games last year.

I'm going off of this year's team. Last year does nothing for Sunday. Unless Matt Moore starts.

Tannehill has his moments. But I don't see him beating a BB defense that is coming around at this point in the season. Last year's defense, was abit better than this version of the Phins. As much as I agreed w/ the trading of V. Davis. There is a hole that hasn't been completely filled.

This team with the new system on offense and defense will struggle on sunday. And I cheer for MIA, its why I rarely bet on a MIA game. But watching the spread move in NE direction, and watching their last few games. They are starting to gel and peak, especially on the defensive side of the ball.

To beat Brady you must be able to get pressure from your front 4, its a must. And so far this season, that hasn't been MIA's strong suit.

Ok, those are some constructive points. I know its going to be hard on Sunday. Actually not having Vontae Davis may be a positive for this game.
In the season finale last year Davis gave up the go ahead TD to the old geeser Deon Branch. Branch put a move on davis in the endzone and Davis went the wrong way.
If you watch the play Davis doesn't even try to turn around and catch up to Branch. He just consedes the TD. Don't know if he could have made it back but he didn't even try.

Good ridance to davis.
