Saints shopping CB Delvin Breaux

Apparently, he got hurt today. It sounds like he's going to miss some time with some major leg injury. They were shopping him because he can't stay healthy. Once again, he is injured. Apparently going for further testing. He can't be traded if he's hurt.

Weren't the Saints about the only defense worse than us last year. Why not let's give them a draft pick for a player that will be on IR by week 2.

No, don't need him. Lippett with another year of seasoning should be able to step into Maxwell's spot. And we just spent a third round pick on Tankersley.

We should definitely see what type of draft pick they're looking for, if the price is too high then we move on, but a healthy Breaux would easily be the best corner on the team, he's a long DB at 6-1, 4.4 forty time, dirt cheap for the next 2 seasons ($615K this year, Restricted Free agent in 2018). We get him and we can trade Maxwell for a 6th and free up $8.5M off the cap.

You don't trade away draft picks for a position that's not a pressing need.

A bit off topic but do y'all think Tramaine Brock is an option for us at CB? I know he had a domestic issue but from what I've gathered he has been cleared of it

We really could use this guy now....

Still no on trading for someone who will go on IR

Report says after X-rays his leg injury is more serious than they first thought but it's not considered long term. He's only been in the league 2 years, last year he missed 10 games but he played all 16 in 2015.

The Saints have fired team orthopedists Deryk Jones and Misty Suri, per source, after it was discovered that CB Delvin Breaux has a fractured fibula and will require surgery expected to sidelined him for 4-6 weeks. Breaux was originally diagnosed with a contusion – and the team was frustrated that he wasn't recovering more quickly until the missed diagnosis was revealed. It was accurately reported that the team has had an issue with Breaux's string of nagging injuries in the past, but this case is different. And it seems unlikely at this point that the team will be as eager to trade or release Breaux.

Who could have predicted that?

That must have been a pretty damn tiny fracture to not see it originally on the xray... or a very bad doctor
