Great, we re-sign a guy who was beaten like a drum in preseason. He also caused a fair amount of penalties. Don't see why we want him.

Probably because of his play in the regular season last year

Dolphins signed Sam Young this week, instead of next, because another team wanted him. They guaranteed his salary for season.

I was mildly surprised he got cut initially. The coaching staff seems to like him. Personally, I really enjoyed him as a "TE" in the Elephant package with Marquis Gray as a FB, both blocking for Ajayi. Sam Young isn't the worst backup tackle out there, despite what many on this board would have you believe. All of the good tackles are starting, and a fair amount of bad ones too.
