That has nothing to do with it. We have plenty of garbage at the bottom of the roster we could cut to make room for him. Naanee comes to mind. I think it has more to do with not wanting to guarantee his contract because he's been or is hurt. I still think it'd be a good idea to sign him after week 1 and let him recover. If he has to miss the first couple games, so be it.
