Slimm's 2012 Underrated Junior Prospects (including draft eligible underclassmen)

Jayron Hosley led the country in interceptions last year as a sophomore with 9 picks... and he's an extremely talented cover corner. He probably won't match that total again as a Junior because he's going to play more boundary corner in Bud Foster's defense this year which requires more man-to-man coverage.

Teams are probably going to test the other side of the field more often and avoid Hosley. Bud Foster's DB's usually don't come out early, but you never know...

Moving on from scat backs to legitimate franchise caliber running backs, Chris Polk is a phenomenal talent. He'll run over you, through you, by you and past you... however you want to do it is fine with him.

He belongs in the category with the elite underclassmen running backs in the 2012 draft class... including Trent Richardson and Knile Davis. Polk is that kind of talent..

Speaking of Knile Davis, I'm dipping into the draft eligible redshirt sophomores here. Two words sum up Knile Davis for me... Total package.

He led the SEC in rushing with over 1,300 yards despite not even being Arkansas' feature tailback until almost the end of October last year. When he became the feature back for the Razorbacks, he dominated. Plain and simple. He got better every week, and he could be gone after this year...

Cameron Marshall is perhaps the most under the radar underclassmen back that has the talent to get it done on Sundays. Legit 4.45 speed at around 215 pounds.

I think he's in for a big Junior season...

Cameron Marshall vs. Washington:

If I were going to make a list of the top 5 athletes in college football, Robert Griffin would be on it. I think it's 50/50 as to whether or not he comes out early, even with another huge season as a Junior, but this is an EXTREMELY high character kid who has his head screwed on straight. Griffin set Baylor's school record for passing yards last season as a sophomore with 3,500 yards.. one of the best dual threat quarterbacks in the country.

THIS is the type of kid you want to roll the dice on as a quarterback prospect, I'll bet you dollars to doughnuts that he's a better pro than Terrelle Pryor... no matter what position they end up playing in the NFL...

Perhaps the most under-the-radar, potential big-time quarterback prospect in the country is Tyler Wilson. His only significant action came last year against Auburn after Ryan Mallett had to leave the game with an injury.

Needless to say, it was one of the most impressive 2 quarter or so passing performances I've seen by a college quarterback since I watched Frank Reich lead Maryland to a 42-40 win over the Miami Hurricanes after being down 31-0 at halftime. Obviously Arkansas wasn't able to come back and beat Auburn, but you get the point...

I doubt Wilson comes out early after only one season as a starter for Petrino, but the point is it'll be interesting to watch how he progresses during his first season as a full time starter facing SEC defenses. The kid has the tools.... as you'll see here....

I saved the best for last...

David DeCastro was the best interior offensive lineman in the country last season, and it wasn't even close in my opinion... he just wasn't eligible for the draft, this year he is...

John Hannah was the best offensive lineman I've ever seen play, and I'm convinced this kid has John Hannah type qualities. This is the best interior offensive lineman to play college football since Steve Hutchinson. DeCastro is almost...flawless.

I can't wait to watch him play more this season... you'd have to go back a long ways to find an interior offensive lineman I'd give a higher grade to...

Here's a little bit of Mark Harrison... big receiver at 6'3", 230 pounds, who can get down the field. Has little bit of Brandon Marshall type attributes in him...

Not as good of a prospect as Kenny Britt was coming out of Rutgers a couple years ago, but probably better OFF the field...

I would be extremely surprised if Aaron Murray decides to enter the 2012 Draft, but you just never know with these kids. He'll only be a redshirt sophomore this season, but he's eligible...

Did I mention that this kid is Drew Brees 2.0?

I watched this game last year and was really impressed with Murray. Kids got balls of steal and great touch.
