Storm brewing in western NY

About as much as basing a season's success on what does or does not happen in a pre-season game or two. That's fools gold.....

To an extent that's true. Wins and losses don't count. Miscues on the part of third stringers who aren't going to be around on opening day don't matter much, either. However, how the first unit offense and defense play against opponents' first units are very good indicators of how the team is likely to play during the season. A starting offensive line that struggles in pass protection or run blocking is likely to continue to do that. A starting QB who misses open receivers in preseason is likely to do the same when it counts. Sloppy tackling in preseason by the defensive starters usually returns to haunt defenses that don't master fundamental techniques.

I mentioned awhile back to some friends that if any team in the AFCE implodes it will be buffalo.

Regardless of Miami's issues the Bill's are a dumpster fire.

I guess some people's crystal balls were a bit cloudly. The Bills haven't imploded nor have they proved to be a dumpster fire. Their 2 losses were close ones, although the one to the Jets stung the most. While it resulted in Greg Roman's firing, it also resulted in the resurrection of the Bills' D as a force to be reckoned with. They're 3-2 and on a 3 game winning streak that includes beating 2 of last season's conference championship finalists. They roughed up Carson Palmer and Company when they came visiting. Instead of succumbing to the myth of Belichick's invincibility, they kicked the Pats in the nuts when they had them down. They went out to LA and ran through the Rams' D while limiting the Rams offense to mostly FGs. Next up, the Niners at New Era with either Gabbert or Kaepernick. :)
