I think Jarvis Landry is out of here just my opinion though
Watch for Oakland to offer a lot.
they're not paying him 15mil, no way.
Question is who do you replace him with?
If he gets the money he's looking for I wish him well where ever he goes. If a team has an option of signing Landry at that price or spending a 2nd round pick on Christian Kirk, I think the KIrk option makes more sense. For example if Miami had the choice of signing Landry and drafting a guard in the 2nd round or signing one of the top guard free agents and drafting Kirk in the 2nd I would go with Kirk and the free agent guard. For what Landry is seeking you could add a decent free agent guard and sign a free agent receiver like Jordan Matthews and still have your 2nd round pick to play with.
Was supposed to be Caroo. Ends up he can't even get on the field.
Yeah another wasted draft pick and what's worse we traded up to get him thanks a lot alot Tannenbum
What you just said about Caroo is what makes losing Landry so hard to swallow. He’s one of the few draft picks we have drafted that is a pro bowler.
You can replace Landry with a couple guys.
Don’t need one but need to spread the ball around more.
Give grant a shot in the slot. Dude is fast as balls. Landry is a goner.
Hopefully a decent guard and a linebacker!
if we lose landry it wont be because of twitter
Grant wouldn't last half a season in the slot. He needs to be on the outside.
I love Landry and want to keep but only at smart money. He'll be a stud on any team but i do think he's a gonner as I feel if any team is willing to pay something similar to the Fins he'll choose them...i think there's some bad blood
Jarvis Landry is a perfect fit for Joe Flacco's always horridly low yards-per-attempt.
At this point Grant deserves a shot at the slot position. Carro can continue to be a back up, not sure what his issue it but it's not good sign we haven't seen him playing more.
I actually think we will be a better balanced offense without him. Best of luck to him except when he plays against the Dolphins.
You replace with him with anyone more explosive or bigger, preferably both. I dont want anyone catching 110 passes. I want 4 or 5 guys hovering between 50-80 receptions.
I know one thing for certain and its possible I speak for many here, Id MUCH rather see Devante Parker catch 80 passes than have Landry catch 115.
I'd rather see Kenny Stills catch 70 balls.
Imagine the carnage if Jakeem Grant catches just 50 passes.
Id prefer a TE who could put up just half the receptions Jarvis did.
Jarvis is the ultimate complimemtary piece.
I don't understand the Caroo hate. I think he is plenty talented enough; good hands, good blocker. I still remember scouts saying his route running was "nuanced".
I remember the same blind hatred for Drake...Until he got an opportunity.
the problem he faced is he wasn't good on special teams and struggled learning all of the receiver positions at once. It was a bad pick based off what we have up to get him, but that isn't his fault. He still can provide value too this team and year 3 is a big year for him.
Good for the Ravens. They still have zero shot at the division. Get slower on offense. That will bridge the gap with Pittsburgh.
Fast as balls? It depends on whose balls we're talking about. Some of our balls aren't as fast as they once were. And having slower balls might not even be a bad thing.
Can a couple guys replace the heart and soul though?
On his next team he can't let players get in his head.
Like who? Parker can’t stay healthy, Stills already has a role, Grant is a gadget player (though more looks should help), and Carroo is busting big time.
You can't replace his individual production. Expecting a player to step in and put up those stats would be unrealistic. To me, if Landry signs elsewhere we'll see a lot of noisy hot takes and bluster. Then the dust will settle and we'll have time to watch and assess. I'll be looking at two things before I pass judgement on the FO:
1) Is the offense (and passing game in particular) better with Landry's targets spread around to more players?
2) With the cap savings we get from letting Landry walk, do we get improved production at positions of need from the players we sign?
I'll miss Landry if he signs elsewhere. I sure hope his ask is reasonable.
I don’t believe the Ravens have the cap flexibility to spend >13 million on Landry.
If they do, then maybe we can sign their FA center and dump Pouncey.
That's the thing, can we have that guy to rally Miami to 6 wins!!!
All those guys can get more targets, Miami can draft a kid..
Ravens like tough players and Laundry is tough and he will be a great fit. What so many miss here is Laundry sits the tone when he touches the ball regardless if its a punt return, catching or even running. He sustains so many drives, just with his toughness of running thru opposing defenses. Our defense will pay in the end when he signs elsewhere, this site will be bashing them next year.
If they can get open, sure.
Mark my words...
Caroo....will do just fine....
Wow that was god awful.
T-bum wont sign Landry. He was brought here to bury our franchise. Going to laugh next year when Parker has 540 yards 2 TD,s and played in 9 games and then sign 5 years 63 million dollar contract.
Just fine? Dude was our 5th WR last year. Explain
A player not seeing much playing time doesn't necessarily mean he can't play. Not with the Dolphins. Gase has a track record.
