First of all, no need to go over the game today as many great posters such as wv, hooshoops, hayden fox, etc have all written great summaries.

However, now that we just beat cincy, this is where it gets real interesting.

after 5 games so far, everyone on here who has watched the miami dolphins this season knows we can easily be 4-1, but we are what we are and that is 2-3. thankfully though, the afc is looking pretty weak this season.

if u go division by division, u got the pats who are still the team to beat in the east with there offense still looking awesome, and that is with hernandez missing games, and gronkowski supposedly playing with a great deal of pain. add in a legit run game now, and an improved defense, scary.

the afc south u have the texans as division winners, the jaguars and titans are arguably the 2 worst teams in the nfl ( chiefs may have something to say) and the colts are deff a lot more competitive than people thought, but i still dont trust that defense.

the afc north, the ravens will win that division, the bengals who we own the tiebreaker over, the steelers have looked sluggish although i believe they will grab 1 of the wildcard spots, and the browns who despite being 0-5 i still think they may not even be bottom 3 teams in the afc.

the afc west, chiefs and raiders blow, broncos just have not looked, and the chargers are a decent team but noting to write home about.

bottom line, for the 2 wildcard spots, there is no reason that we can not grab one of them.

we have 6 very winnable games coming up so this is one of the reasons i am optimistic. although nothing in the nfl is a gimmee, we could easily be favorite in our next 6 games. we stop the run, pressure the qb, we can run the ball ( bush has been hurt thats why our run game has struggled the past 2 games) tannehill has matured right in front of our eyes, and seems to have very good chemistry with bess and especially hartline.

bottom line, for the first time in a few years, our team looks legit. now legit in terms of superbowl contender? most likely not, but hey part of following ur team is having hope and being optimistic, so i can dream, lol. but playoff contender? why the **** not.

it starts with doing what good teams do, and that is beat up on inferior teams. now dont get me wrong, the rams have played a lot better than i thought so far, but we r home, they lost there best weapon on offense, and there offense overall even with amendola was nothing special, so without him we should be able to contain them very easily. they do have a good psychical defense, but its a game where a playoff contender on there home turf must ****ing win, so lets go to 3-3 and into our bye week

it feels great to be a fins fan again. all of us who have stuck it out through the torture the past decade plus we deserve some happy times. please make us happy miami, we deserve it.

We've only played one division game...which we lost. Hard to talk playoffs without seeing how we stack up against the East teams first.

Ive been talking playoffs since preseason bro. Thats why everyone got and earned the Fs I gave them on the grades after losing to the sorry *** Jests. You have to beat ****ty teams like the Jests when you play them, especially at home, if you want to make it to the playoffs. That game hurts us so badly in the standings right now. The Cards loss isnt nearly as bad because its an interconference game.

Youre correct about how weak the AFC is this year. I posted exactly that in my first Get Real thread this year. I almost took the Colts for that last spot. Its wide open.

The Broncos have lost to 3 good teams and beaten the Steelers. They will be a factor. The Chargers will be in the mix as well. We can hope with the tough schedules they play that they both go 9-7. I expect the Steelers to be around at the end. The Ravens, Texans, and Pats look pretty solid.

Beating the Bungles was HUGE. A game we had to have to hold on to hope. I think we can string some Ws together and play meaningful December football for a change.

And hell, if we get in watch the **** out. Because if we do get in, it will mean Tannehill will have been improving all along and we could be real dangerous come January. Avoid injuries and lets go!!!!!!

Pretty easy to see how we stack up against the teams in our division.

    The Bills blow.
    The Jests blow HARD.
The Pats are pretty damn good.
    Were a pretty good team.

Since we lost to the Jests, we need to sweep the rest of the division games to have a shot in the division. Otherwise, we are thinking wildcard.

ya, i would obviously love to win the division, but the pats look very good. im looking more realistically at the wildcard, but who knows. we dont play the pats until december 2nd which is pretty late for the 1st meeting.

me personally, for the first time in a while i was going into the season with very little optimism after our off season. however, i went from no expectations in week 1, to now thinking playoffs at least.

we r the 2nd best team in the afc. buffalo is jeckle and hyde, but its hard to take them seriously when they have lost games so far to the jets allowing 40 plus pts, the pats allowing 50 plus pts, and today vs san 40 plus.

the jets lost there best player in revis, and now best offensive player in holmes for the year. they got very little talent and are imploding. i hope they get clobbered tomorrow and put tebow in, then the jets maybe in the running for the 1st overall pick.

I still can't believe people cared that much about the pre season and I agree with the OP we beat a playoff team and they certainly still in contention and talking playoffs although this was a big loss in terms of their schedule.

exactly. aside from week 1, and heck even in week 1 in houston we shut there offense down the entire first half for the most part ( all there pts were on a short field off turnovers) but houston is ****ing legit so nothing to be ashamed of.

we did what good teams do and pummeled a bad raiders team, we beat a very solid cincy team that was avg 33 pts on offense in there 3 wins so far, not to forget in there own building, and we were a ****ing 4th and 10 stop away from beating arizona in there house, and the jets also 2 missed very makable fgs.

the past is the past, but what the present is showing is that tannehill is looking like he can finally be the guy, and lets hope he is because im tired of switching qbs each year. for once in for all, lets not have to talk about who our qb should have to be for the next 10- 15 years.

We should beat the Jets. We should sweep the bill and tie with Pats. I can see playoffs. We will come close for sure

Food for thought...2 out of the first 4 weeks, Miami has had the offensive player of the week, Bush and Hartline.

    Playoffs? PLAYOFFS?!?!

you don't make the playoffs dropping games to teams like the cardinals (don't care about their record, that offense is trash) and the ****ing jets. The sad thing is we lost our games on a couple of plays and like others have said, we could easily be a one loss team. I'd even contend we would have hung around with the texans had we not had the tipped INTS and that HORRIBLE fumble by thomas.

What's even more frustrating is that just about every key play in our losses is directly related to a bone head dip **** move by ireland. Armstrong had a nice drop in the jets game that should have been a near game sealing first down. nanane was total garbage and cost us a couple of turnovers. John Jerry has been inconsistent and getting his *** kicked on the regular. The biggest surprise to me is how bad thomas has been with the fumbles and just lack of vision coupled with him looking even slower than last year. Poor secondary play...but we traded away a first round talent for nothing...I just don't get any of these moves we made.

I hate to say this but so much depends on the NFL and the officiating. after watching tonight`s game chargers vs. saints. it`s so obvious that it`s annoying. chargers got ripped off constantly. a 0-5 saints could mean an economic or credibility factor ..mmm i dont know but conspiracy strikes again folks. i hope our fins can be on clean called games.

I thought we would be a 10-6 team just by schedule alone. Losing 2 winnable games early in the season will come back to bite us in the ***. There's still a chance for playoffs if we can put together a string of victories but we are struggling in close games. I just want to see the team head in the right direction and be a contender for years to come.

I still think we're an 8-8 team. Losing those 2 overtime games really hurts, but I think we can steal at least one more game (and yes, we STOLE that game today against the Bengals. Playoff team from last year, 3-1 record, and we beat them in their house).
