How Matt Moore brought us back

Agreed. Let MM throw earlt to empty the box, then let the run game get going. I think PART of MM's problem has been no respectable run game. Put him in a position to not NEED to force throws and I think (hope) his recklessness would be lessened.

I'll be interested in how Gase plans the Ravens game. If he let's MM throw early, that tells me he knows Cutler can't be trusted and, more importantly, shows he isn't blindly obsessed with the run.

Again, no expert here, but I think we should reign in Moore like the Ravens reigned in Dilfer. I know the Ravens defense was a huge part of their Super bowl win, but Dilfer learned to play within himself and didn't loose games for them. I believe Moore should do the same thing. Take what the defense gives him and get the ball to our playmakers and let them make plays. In my uneducated opinion, it looks to me Moore get's himself in trouble and creates turnovers when he tries to do too much. He needs to settle down and play as a team.

Can anyone explain why we stopped doing what we did on 1st drive? Moving the pocket, quick hits?
I know the logical answer is the Jets made an adjustment and we had to also, but D's stacking the box is an adjustment to our inept offense so far and we do nothing so adjustment is not the reason

Moore was facing the same defense and the same pressure....

Yet I didn't see him fading way back and lobbing up lolly pops off his back foot.....

He stood in with sound footwork / mechanics and won the damn game...

I have been a J Cut supporter the entire time, but sometimes you ride the hot hand....

MM is a better QB right now, its obvious...

I will put it to you this way...that throw down the seam to fasano was exactly like that throw vs buffalo to dion sims where he bypassed progressions and had a brain fart...this is ther kind of stuff that limits his ability to play consistent football...brain farts...but these are the kind of things like setting the protection wrong in the clutch that get you beat..taking points off the board...be glad mccown read that zone coverage wrong on the gift int...if that was a legit qb odds damn good they go down and beat us...you have to make good on your opportunities...matt moore was 2 for 4 really on those two tds and 2 ehh plays.

anyways most of matt moores limitations are based around his inability to read coverage off non motion based pre snap looks...and until he fixes those issues and some of these brain cramps the end results are gonna be ehh

chasing the scoreboard like we were in the 4th quarter for instance requires deeper sets and pocket ones...deeper route combos etc...in sync with the drops

Ok but we couldn't keep doing it 2nd drive, 3rd, so on?

There is no downfield threat when Cutler is in. So the Jets could play up. Once Moore starts firing down the field, accurate or not, it spreads the defense out.

I 100% agree that these inconsistencies have been a constant for him....

I would hope that all of the first team reps and the mindset knowing he is the starter heading in would hopefully "limit" some of these "brain farts" as you called them....

On a short week with 1 day of practice though, he may be the perfect QB to have...

Also, keeping in mind we are not even talking about some of his physical limitations...

But with ALL of that being said, I am more confident in MM right now then I would be even if Cut had a chance to play on Thursday...

Totally agree. But the guy can place a football. He can lead a receiver open. I wouldn't want him starting on my team by choice, but I'd want him a hell of a lot more than Cutler.

The Coach speak is always so and so gives us a better chance to win. Right now that guy is Matt Moore. What I'm wondering is can his game be elevated to where he is better than ever. Is it possible we haven't seen his ceiling, can he surprise in a good way? They say Gase could Coach Tim Tebow to a Play Off victory!!

Moore has his limitations as he showed last season when he took over for Ryan.

However, something to consider this time around is that he'll be motivated to perform well given that he's basically in a two-man battle for the starting job.

Competition brings out the best in players. Last year, he had zero competition after Ryan went down. This time, having the possibility of losing his job to Cutler might be good to keep him focused and let him play his best football yet.

With the way our defense is playing, we don't need Moore to look like Brady, he just has to lead the offense to score enough points each game for us to keep winning. This might be his best chance to prove himself and become a starter of a potential playoff team. We'll see if he can make the most of it.

Limitations or not, dude has thrown for 10 touchdowns in 4 regular season games since Ryan got hurt.

That’s all that matters.

what i loved about moore was how quick he was to the line of scrimmage, especially on the game tying td drive. keep the pressure on, dont let the D get set. brady and rodgers do that all the time, especially when theyre in the red zone.

I was travelling for business on Sunday, and watched the first 3 quarters. I stopped watching right after Moore threw the the INT. The shock I had when I checked into the hotel and saw the score. I watched the highlights in utter amazement.

NYPhinz, so sorry you missed the comeback. It really was one of the better ones of all time, especially sweet because it was the Jets.
