Why Does Our Coach Need A Coach?

Coaches generally mentor assistant HC. We got it backwards Caldwell(assistant hc) has the experience and will be mentoring Flores(coach).

And fans typically blurt out nonsense, keeping things status quo!

I rather risk trusting the ladder of coaches that a guy that has been under BB for years and years has set up over a spur of the moment "genius" thought of a fan

Don't know if I'm getting his take correctly, but I think the OP is saying: If your new head coach needs training wheels, maybe he shouldn't be a head coach. Either way I thought this organization learned it's lesson in hiring H Coaches with zero experience. But I guess not. Lets keep banging our head against the same wall. I don't think this bodes well. I hope I'm wrong. And sure, compare all new coaches to Sean Mcvay (like that means anything) and Wade Phillips but even Philbin could squeeze into the playoffs with the Rams roster. We'll see what happens when their contracts expire. Is anyone really exited about this hire? Please give me the last coach under BB that succeeded? Meh.

IMO Flores and O'shea or any other coaches should learn and create on their own if they are good then we will see it. If we want Caldwell to be the coach then they should hire him as the coach.

You would prefer Flores learn from multiple mistakes like all other virgin HCs? I have no problem with help in developing game plans, play selections, and critical stuff. And the way I understand it, Caldwell won't be in Miami for Flores' entire time in Miami.

Bringing in Caldwell is a very good move. This actually makes me feel good about Flores because it shows that he realizes that he will need help. Flores has only been with 1 organization in the NFL and has never been through a rebuild. It’s not hard to look good in Patriots land when you have Belichick overseeing everything. Plus, no coach coming out of the Belichick tree has been successful! This also shows that Flores knows that teamwork is the best method unlike Gasy. Gasy thought that he was the smartest person in the room when he clearly wasn’t.

I think he will be a advisor/mentor. I believe he is trying to set up his staff for success in mind with some NFL veteran experience.I think its a good move to help ensure the building of the team.

Flores is doing it the right way. You bring in Caldwell as Offensive guy who will help install the Offense and oversee it. He will also (rumors) bring in a Defensive guy to help install, oversee and mentor the Defensive side of the ball along with him being that is his background. Now say we have a good couple years and someone wants our OC or DC for a possible head coaching job. They can go and we won't miss a beat because we will still have the guys who installed the O and D right here in the building. Next guy up that has been a wr,db,ol,dl,qb,rb or lb coach just steps right in and scheme doesn't change.

It will have the makings of interchangeable parts and the machine keeps rolling without a constant learning of something new. Less thinking means playing faster!! Just my opinion.
