I liked what I saw of Sitton, unfortunately, he has an injury history and we got burnt signing him. I would'nt take the chance. As they embark on their rebuilding project, the Dolphins not only need to add players at various positions but also clear out considerable cap space.
According to the NFL Players Association, the Dolphins have just $5.9 million in cap space for next season after several low-money signings during the past two months, including veteran defensive end Tank Carradine, quarterback Jake Rudock and cornerback Dee Delaney. That $5.9 million would barely be enough to sign a draft class, let alone anything else.
In most cases, the Dolphins will carve out more space by releasing players, such as Andre Branch. In some cases, they first will try to trade players, as the Dolphins have been doing with quarterback Ryan Tannehill.
Detail below- apparently they are planning on moving on from Sitton

Where have you been, missed the girls! (white still my fav)There is so much talent available in the safety market via free agency that I think we need to wait until they sign first.
I miss Dawn Aponte......Regardless of how much cap space we have or don't have, Tbaum and company gave out some crazy contracts to players that hadn't earned them and now it's hurting us and of course you have a guy like Jones with a dead money hit of over 23mill if we were to cut him. It has been one bad deal after the other ever since he came to Miami. So glad he's gone.
That is correctThis is an illusion. We are undergoing a complete rebuild, and that means jettisoning the high salaried veterans. The only question is timing. Lots of those guys are going to go and we'll have plenty of cap space. I'm also fairly certain that if we are tanking we will carry over $10M in cap space for 2020 … and like @allsilverdreams said, I think we carried over as much as $10M from last year that they're not incorporating.
Tannenbaum has no business being in any NFL front office, his preference to over pay for big names and spend on older and at times injury prone players has really put Miami in a bind these next 2 seasons. Miami's cap management will improve if they follow the Patriots model. Its darn near impossible to cut everyone in 2019 but by 2020 it's very possible Grant, Howard and Tunsil will be the only higher priced players on the team. Expect a lot of changes into 2021.
I was under the impression Miami had 16 mil available after cutting Branch.
