Pft - Miami Close To A Deal For Josh Rosen (merged)

I was thinking a conditional 3rd or 4th in 2020 based on Rosen's play and where Miami finishes in the standings in 2019. I sure as hell wouldn't give up the 2020 2nd round pick if the game plan is to take and have a top three pick. A high second round picks are too valuable to trade.

Given the market for this trade, I think a 2nd round pick would be a coup for Arizona. With that said, I am fine with it as long as the plan is to actually start Rosen. The worst thing the team could do would be to trade a day 2 pick for the kid and then sit him on the bench.

Wow Rumors are rampant, the rumor was that last night Arizona was seeking a first round pick for Rosen according to NJ.com.

https://www.nj.com/giants/2019/04/n...n-why-a-trade-with-giants-never-happened.html

According to a league source, the Cardinals and general manager Steve Keim began shopping Rosen in earnest minutes before the draft began at 8:00 p.m., and were seeking a first-round choice in return that no team was willing to give up. Rosen only found out about the team’s intention to draft Murray, the 2018 Heisman Trophy winner, moments before the pick. He found out from his agent only after Murray was seen in the green room taking a phone call while the Cardinals were on the clock. Head coach Kliff Kingsbury called Rosen minutes later.

Breer and Darlington are skeptical of this. Darlington emphasized Miami has done a good job sticking with their plan and this would deviate from it. Keep in mind teams float info to better position themselves. Hard to believe any reports until something actually happens.
If they would trade for Rosen not sure how that would deviate from their plans. A franchise QB is and was in their plans either in 2019 or 2012. If they feel Rosen fits that bill and they can get a franchise QB for a 2nd or 3rd than that is right in their plan.
The only ones saying it deviates from their plan is those who simply disagree with a possible trade.

Oh FH.
The same people who gave our last "franchise" QB 7 years and more to reach that unlimited ceiling are willing to toss the towel on a top 10 pick after one year in a cluster **** system named Arizona Cardinals. Brilliant.

I prefer a 3rd round pick but if it requires a 2nd rounder to hold off a team like NE (or any other team with the luxury of multiple 2nd round picks) I grab on to that opportunity.

Most here are just concerned that the wet dream "tanking" will be tossed aside. But it's OK. Instead of bitching about any win we might get which will take us away from "tanking" you guys can get the immediate "world burns to the ground" feeling. You can just bitch and moan all offseason about Rosen and our awful FO and horrible coach and how you would have done it all better.

If I am the Dolphins and I have the opportunity at a potential franchise QB for a 2nd rounder I'll do it.

The dude just tanked his way out of a job last year. The tank is rolling down hill at full speed if we use a second rounder on him. Hes already shown he can do the job. I just rather let fitzpatrick do it without giving a second rounder up.

Agree 100 percent!
Plus just think finheaven can be split again on another qb! Win Win for those bitching.

If they make this trade pretty obvious fitz came here with no guarantees on anything in 2019 other than his salary lol

Why would you guarantee anything to Ryan Fitzpatrick? Dude is thrilled every time he gets another job.

In the old days, most QBs were expected to sit for a year or two so that they could learn... These days, most of them are thrown to the wolves.

Rosen would have been better off if he'd been on that plan.
