What Am I Missing?

The simple answer to your question is the Dolphins are inexperienced and lacking in talent.

Armando Salguero - So the Dolphins roster is so young and so inexperienced that two-thirds of the players can be cut and re-signed for practice squad.

Coaching Staff - Flores 1st year head coach, Chad O'shea 1st year offensive coordinator, Patrick Graham 1st year defensive coordinator - these guy's are learning there job's on the fly just like some of the players.

It truly is a team in full rebuild mode, were 1 to 2 years from relevance in a good scenario.

Don't be fooled by the score last night, Rosen isn't going to save us this year and if he does that could a set back, we need more high draft picks, better free agent talent.

Nothing would suck more then to go thru all this and not end up with a team that can compete the next 10 years.

Going to see even more veterans cut from this team the ones that don't fit , that means more rookies on the 53

Doesn't matter how they won them, they did. You are what your record is. They may win 4 or 5 games this season or they may win 9. No matter what their record is though I think we're a better team this season than last.

There were two teams with worse point differentials than us last year. One of those teams added MBC, and the other one traded us our new possibly starting QB.

The highlights of our offseason were preparing us for the future.

How exactly does that inspire confidence for this season?

we need the right talent. this team has repeatedly for 20 year blown money on 3-5 players because they feel star power=success. Still hasn't worked but we keep doing it. I am mortified that we are going to screw it up next year.

If this team does better then 3 wins it will be X's and O's definitely not Jimmy and Joe's.

Rosen looks good though. They're some major holes in defense.

I rarely care nothing about our record this season, this season for me at least is all about evaluation. Is our coaching staff the next big thing or just another rehash of a tired experiment to find the next Shula and company ? Does the GM know what he's doing when it comes to building a competitive roster for the long term. Is the 1st round QB prospect we picked up going to have a chance to be our face of the franchise? Where are the holes in the roster outside the obvious ?

if we go 11-5 and make the play offs, fantastic, but most of the sensible folks in our fan base accept that that is unlikely. What we need to see from all those people wearing the aqua and orange and representing is clear signs that we can put our trust in them, even if we win just a game or two. It may appear like a gloomy, no hope and pointless season that is about to hit us but in many respects it could be more exciting than any for a long time, it's the start of a new era, where we've seen more change than in any other off season in recent memory. Yes it might all blow up and just continue on the treadmill of Meh this franchise has been over the last couple of decade, but there is a chance for hope and I'm definitely looking at this as glass half full right now, until that fat SOB bumps into to our arm holding the drink !

So Rosen saving Miami is a set back?

LMFAO

If the qb is set then the rest of it matters less. Browns had top 5 picks for a decade and were ass until a qb came along and changed their fortune.

Yeah had Josh Allen pick 7 on the brain and us winning probably 3 games we should of lost, really didn't have any thing to do with Rosen, more about collecting talent and yeah you can miss many teams do all the time, we have done quite a bit of that our self's. Was a bit strange watching us get beat decently in the 1st half on the football field and the score being 7-3 in their favor and it reminded me of the last 2 years and winning more games than we had a right to.

Jacksonville perfect example of not having the QB set

Were did Oakland take Ferrell pick 4, who's there GM, Josh Allen looks every bit the beast and more than likely better than Bosa.

To be honest the defense should on paper be much better and the offense isn't really any worse.

I mean is Rosen/Fitz = Tannehill? I think that answer is yes but if not it isn't worse.

The O-line was a disaster last year so can it really be wrose? I think the answer is no.

The WR's are the same = push (you could make the case they might be better).

The TE group is the same = push.

The RB are the same = push (again you could make the case they are better).

So really the only position on the team you can say is worse is the DE position, we did lose out there in my opinion but I think the backers and secondary actually will be improved and the D-line as well. Time will tell but I think the team ends up being competitive for sure. I'd say 5 to 7 wins but given the schedule probably less and I think that is why most people are hammering Miami, it isn't the overall team it is the schedule they drew. The first four games are brutal.

I agree, I think they win AT LEAST 5 games this season.

The schemes on both Offense and defense appear much better now, just based on the vanilla/pre-season play so far.

The play calling also seems much better, based purely on those 3 preseason games.

Our DE's last season didn't amount to much went it really mattered... in the actual games.

I would have traded Wake 2-3 years ago.

I think if we had the same D with this year's coaches it would have performed significantly better.

They might start out 0-2 and still be a MUCH better team than last year.

The Chargers and cowboys don't seem unbeatable to me.

The pats & ravens are simply much better squads at this point
but I will be rooting for the upsets
while the snowflakes are crying about tanking
and how tur-rible Fitz & Rosen are playing. ;)
