Jason Sanders

The decision to not pay Parkey and bring in Sanders couldn't have worked out much better. Sanders been excellent, Cody now without a team (tho I reckon that'll change, he can't keep hitting the post like last season!).

Yeah i have no doubt we would’ve beat Pitt and went to the SB. Marino vs Neil O’Donnell. Cmon. Beating that Niner team would have been a tall order though. But for ****s sake, just snap the damn ball like you’re paid to do and Stoyo kicks us into the Title game. That snap was so bad, and the timing so off, that he would have hit it 64 yards wide had it been a 25 yard chip shot.

I forgot all about Parkey....thanks to Sanders.
 
So much goes into looking at a kicker in college that goes beyond the raw fga/fgm that some fans look at. How was his snapper and holder? What were the kick distances? What was the conditions? You can't just look at a kicker going 10 of 15 and not do a little more digging.

It even seems like Sanders is a way better kicker in the pros than when he was in college. Still only 2 missed FGs in his career. Nice find FO!

He's awesome but there is no way he is going to be in the top ten in scoring playing for this offense.

I was hoping we kept Parkey, he had a good season in 2017 (especially the onside kicks!) but glad we went for Sanders now! The game v The bears when Parkey missed a FG in OT and Sanders nailed his to win the game seemed like it was confirming we'd made the right choice

I was 9 or 10. First time I literally cried bc of this team.
 
One sees some other teams struggling to find a decent kicker, eg Chicago Bears, Minnesota Vikings, even Atlanta has just brought in a new kicker to compete. Apart from the rare field goal miss the other night, Sanders looks pretty good. Kudos to Darren Rizzi for finding him somewhere in New Mexico.

I love Marino, but I always thought that was difference between him and Brady, Brady takes the short throws and gets in position, Dan always went for the jugular, that’s why we love him though
