0-line Rankings

Psssh. Whatever. I mean, anything can happen in the NFL. (And if the Chargers aren't the poster team for that statement, then I don't who the heck is). I mean come on? I highly doubt our O-line would be 32. The realist in me is saying about 12-14, and the 'Phin fan in me is saying about eighth.

maybe the Oline deserves to ranked last. But not because of the fantasy reasoning behind thier rating. Unproven at running back and iffy QB's have as much to do with their ranking as the line itself.

It's fantasy football junk...

1)52 sacks given up
2)27th scoring offense
3)31st rush yards per game (offense)

Maybe it's good we're ranked last. That way I can imagine the look on this guy's face:

Yeah, that is true. But look at it from a realist's stand point. Don't you think that with the addition of a proven O-line coach (Houck), our line would be quite above last place?

Hudson Houck is one of the best O-Line coaches in the NFL. Maybe the best.
I don't think Miami's O-Line is the worst in the NFL. Not even close. I just don't think it is the 8th best line in the NFL.

Well of course, me being a Phins fan, I'd hope for them to be eighth. But on a realist level, I agree with you.

just having hadnot and carey ON THE FIELD should increase us up into the lower twenties, not to mention stockar mcdougle, hudson houck and the assistant we have from usc, all of those added up i beleive we have a solid shot at being the 16th or so best line in football, and it will only get better since we have such a young line, what are the ages? 23,27, 26, 24, 29 true? thats pretty young with stockar being the most experienced.

I know someone will give me all sorts of technical junk, but there is no way an o-lineman can have some kind of fantasy value. And don't come back, anybody, with sacks allowed and pancakes...the o-line isn't a glamour position, it's a protective unit reflected in the rest of the team's stats.

He ranks the freaking Giants line over the Jets? No way should Billy be ranked that high.

Hard to argue where Miaim is due to last year, but the coaching change alone should have been mentioned. Then numnuts rates Brown as a third/fourth round pick.

You sure you didn't wright this?

One could also argue that those same stats are due to the LINE! The protective part is in the passing game, then when they run, it becomes the aggresive part.

It may not be glamour, but it all starts in the trenches.

Exactly, which is why their work is reflected in everyone else's results. You think the guys who play on the o-line want to know how many holes they've opened for the WRs on end-arounds? No! They want to maul opposing defenses, plain and simple.
