06 draft

I can't believe some of what I'm reading. There is no way, no how we get a first rounder for ZT or McMike. ZT is an aging player on the downside of his career. McMike is a head case and you don't know if he'll be able to play since he could go to jail the next time he has a spat. Don't misunderstand me. I love both these guys. But the market won't shell out a first for either of them. The other teams aren't stupid. Wanny and Spielman aren't out there making deals together anymore.

I predict that we'll package Ricky after this year (he'll restore his market value this season) and we'll stockpile picks and/or move up to secure a top QB.

Detailed different one
Rd1: Omar Jacobs(QB) My favorite after Leinart elite passer with enough mobility to get away from the heat. Desperately in need of a #1 qb.
Rd2: Will Blackmon(CB) May be slighty overrated but still a good pick in second round. Has great closing speed.
Rd3: Mike Degory(C) Has been a anchor for Florida for years. Would provide some stabibility on the offensive line.
Rd4: Bobby Carpenter(LB) A.J. Hawks running mate would fit pretty good in the 3-4 scheme.
Rd5: Page(S) UCLA hard hitter and is pretty good in pass coverage.

Projections are fun to do but one of the major issues I have with these is football is full of uncertainties. Major changes can happen in a year, one of our players might get injured, players like Alabi might become superstars overnight, who will be available in the free-agent market and which ones of these projected first rounders will have an off year or be injured.

You think the Chargers expected Brees to have such a great year?

The great thing about football is anything can happen lets wait and see.

Nice point.

I doubt Blackmon is there in the second unless he has a horrible senior year. He is awesome in coverage, with great closing speed like you said, and could easily EASILY be the top corner coming out next year.

Eh lets just do a dikta draft. All Day one picks for Leinhart. Would I approve? Depends on this year. EVerybody who knows I"m a fin fan, and has been watching pre-season with me, and talking football with me, says "Man, Miami would be great this year if they had a QB on their team!"

Have people watched Omar Jacobs throw the football? He's put up great numbers, but I hate his throwing motion and it will need to be corrected, and it'll take alot of time. I just don't like him as a prospect. Alot of people are stating the team won't have a chance at Leinart, but I don't know if there is another team so desperate for a QB as the Phins. I think Arizona might make a move for him, but they'll have a better record so they'll have to trade up, Titans have Volek, and Frye has turned it around in Cleveland. It's very possible Leinart is a Dolphin next season, because teams seem to have already made there investment into Qb's. Next year's draft is much better at the top, you can make an arguement that the top 4 players didn't even come out in Brooks, Leinart, Fergusan, and Rod Wright. It's too early to tell, but Omar Jacobs is not who I wanna see the Phins go after.

I've seen his throws, and yes he needs to work on improving his mechanics some what, but... look at his physical talents. He can run, throw the deep ball, and he is incredibly accurate. Lineman can make this guy into the 2nd comming of Culpepper.

I think when it comes to 1st rd talents, it's not the physical aspect of the game that will need work, it's the other things. A Qb coach is going to change Jacobs throwing motion, and that's gonna take alot of time. Rather than waiting for the 2nd coming of a player, I think people need to look for the 1st Matt Leinart, not the 2nd coming of Tom Brady, or the 1st Omar Jacobs, not the 2nd coming of Culpepper. This puts too high of expectations on players, and leads to fans calling for the players head because they aren't instant stars. Omar Jacobs is talented, but I just get disgusted when I watch his mechanics, but then many people didn't like Aaron Rodgers because he was too mechanically sound, but it's all a matter of opinion.

omar jacobs throws like a freakin pansy... i know leinhart is out of the question but i would much rather have the other two better versions of omar jacobs...depends on what yall are lokking for if you want a scrambler and a dual threat qb somewhat like jacobs then just get vince young hes better at omar jacobs..if you want to go the other way and want the best qb with vision and accuracy and power that is pretty quick but is not as much as a playmaker with his feet then go with chris leak...both are going to be more proven coming out of the sec and big 12(two best conferences)

Chris Leak Is Our Qb Prospect...throws The Deep Ball, Fearless, Proven In The Sec. Also, How Many Players Did We Pick That Saban Played Against In College 3 Or 4...why Does Anyone Think He Will Move Away From That Theory It Worked Good In This Draft

bro we are not ditching jt. no way in hell. id kill myself. i really hope you are being sarcastic

No, I am not. Roth is strictly a RE. JT's position. Roth will do much better on the RE, so we wont lose anything. JT is my favorite on the team, but still, I want the team to succeed, not just JT. And, while the getting is good, we got to get. JT will go to another team, and do just as well. Thats FA, and thats how it goes.

Yes, the big fat slow man indicates that the hybrid, top 3 defensive end, and possible top 20 linebacker will be gone.

You bet it does. I try to tell you all, Roth aint a LE. But oh no, back in April, Roth was the best thing since crushed ice, sliced bread, and lawnmowers to hit the NFL. And now, I am telling you again, Roth is a RE, exclusively. Once he gets into the RE position, he will look night and day compared to what you have saw. He costs a hell of a lot less, and we can offload JT's money, and replace with somebody just as good, for alot less, you bet JT is gone. You guys never listen....... One day you shall.

Zach? I never said Zach. Zach wouldnt get more then a 4th, not with his contract. McMike, you are right, he wont get us a first, he'll get us a 1st and 3rd. McMike is worth his weight in gold. You dont think Denver would cough up a first and third to get a guy like McMike? Your crazy if you dont. They got all their other pieces. All they need is a receiving TE, somebody like Sha Sha. And Randy fits that bill. I cant help you all cant see his potential. Like the other GM's can. It's all good, come talk to me next March.

No, if you want to run the 3-4 in Miami, then you need to focus on AJ. He would have to be our first selection, because he wont last outside the top 10, more like top 5. He is a premium SS LB. Those dont come along often.
