10/8 Practice Updates

Pouncey at G is one of the BEST moves this staff could have possibly made. Instead of upgrading to a degree the play at C, you monumentally will upgrade the play at RG, our biggest hole in the line. No more sweating bullets with Thomas or Smith. This will be the best line we've had in ten years or more now.

Wide receiver Brandon Gibson is not practicing, missing work for the second time in as many practices this week. It is uncertain what Gibson is nursing but the thinking is he's still nursing the knee issue he had last year.

The injury report is coming out later today and that will give details about Gibson's injury.

Cornerback Cortland Finnegan is not practicing today. It is unclear what issue he's dealing with.

The Dolphins have been giving Jamar Taylor work in Finnegan's absense and defensive coordinator Kevin Coyle earlier this week mentioned Taylor is getting more work this week.

From the depth chart lies department we have the example of strongside linebacker. The Dolphins depth chart has Jason Trusnik as the starter at that spot. Trusnik has been a starter since the opener, taking the place of middle linebacker Koa Misi.

But Misi is back so Trusnik is not going to start there. And Jelani Jenkins, who took over for Dannell Ellerbe when he was injured and went on injured reserve, is in fact the next man up at strongside linebacker ahead of Trusnik.

So Jenkins likely keeps that job although Trusnik is listed on the depth chart as the starter.

Guess Finnegan was at practice but not participating.

I am going to be very pissed if Trusnik ends up starting over Jenkins, this is a very, very, very important game, against a team that has a QB that can easily pick Miami apart all over the field, and could run effectively if/when he has to, as well as a scary RB that can take over the game if allowed...Trusnick better do what he does best, hit the returner on special teams, then GET THE HECK OFF THE FIELD.

I think you mean Trusnick and I agree 100%.

Going to guess limited reps.

Miami needs to treat this with much care. This game will be tough, and Miami can use every and any weapon they can get, but not at the expense of having a very key player for the season come back too early, and risk losing him for the rest of the year.

I am so pumped for this game..........and soooooo scared at the same time. Please just get here Sunday PLEASE!!!!

We are going to see what this team is made of this week. Huge test!

We need to run the ball more than 30 snaps this game. Hopefully our strong YPC holds up. Minimize turnovers. If these hold true then at least we have a shot.

#Packers QB Aaron Rodgers said he learned from #Dolphins HC Joe Philbin how to control his body language

Thought you might enjoy this one!

Packers are 32nd in rushing yards per game defensively. They give up 163 ypg at 4.6 ypc. We should run the ball on them, especially with the return of Pouncey.

So do we expect Moreno to get full reps vs Packers?

We have to keep in mind that Miller was the starter even when Moreno was healthy, so I imagine they will bring Moreno along as the game goes along and see how he is responding and how his arm is doing.

Mike Pouncey getting reps at RG alongside RT Ja'Wuan James.

This is the best news I have heard in a long time. It will get our best 5 OL on the field at the same time. While I do not think Satele has played lights out, he has done a commendable job at OC.

If Moreno comes back this weekend I'll be an extremely happy guy. For Gibson, if that Patella is bothering him sit him down for a couple games, you don't want to risk your knee at any position but, especially reciever. Those types of injuries can ruin a person's mobility for life so it's best to be cautious as possible for him. Besides, Landry's no slouch in the slot even if he's young.

It's so weird saying this but, we FINALLY have the luxury of sitting a player like Gibson so he can heal properly.

I can't remember the last time we had quality depth at WR.

i was thinking the same thing this morning.. This team if it stays healthy can be really good.. both lines are in good shape WITH depth.. the rb's and wr's are good. the secondary is good.. soooo, where is the weakness?? lb's.. need a difference maker there and we can be great again.. also, hopefully clay is healthy and we can have a te threat

Yep, this pretty much. Run early and often. Mix and match Moreno and Miller...heck even Thomas has been running better as of late.

I don't care if we finish 2-14. I really don't. I'm just excited about the remainder of 2013 because we're going to get answers about a lot of things. For better or worse, I'm just going to enjoy the ride.
