100% behind Moore

Moore will only continue to get better. He was a top 12 qb last year for crying out load on a team that was in total disarray. You would have to be an idiot to give up on him, you guys need to open your eyes and give someone a chance. Can we let this kid get properly coached and see what he can do... Also, i totally disagree with all of that matt is not WC passer because he can stretch the play with the best of them..

I
'll tell yah the grass is always greener with you guys, we may never see another Marino on the fins and Moore is the best thing that we have had since and you guys are ready to discard him like last weeks garbage.

I am tired of beating a dead horse though and am 100% behind Moore, Gerrard, or who ever is our QB.

I am so tired of being negative and it is hard not to be. However, I hope Matt Moore proves me wrong. I don't hate the guy, and I could give a crap about being wrong or right....I JUST WANT TO FREAKING WIN MAN! So tired of losing, man it has been so damn long since we mattered.

This is probably the healthiest attitude to have.

At some point you just want to be a "fan" again -- and by that I mean you just want to root for your team, have some hope, and be happy when they win, not go over all the negatives again and again and again.

Despite the fact that I've been going head to head with Stang for awhile over Moore, maybe overreacting to criticism, I do acknowledge that he's got a number of areas to work on, not the least of which is ball security.

The reasons why I immediately got good vibes from him were based somewhat on the intangibles. I've seen him on the field rallying the troops, the way the offensive line reacted to him and the easy comraderie. When observing him in post game pressers, I said to myself "this guy carries himself like a confident, competent QB, win or lose, pretty self-effacing, realistic and objective."

I understand that the "It factor" involves a lot more than intangibles but I don't discount his leadership and motivational abilities either as being necessary fundamental components.

Here was a guy who actually had a few good partial runs with a terrible team and then a bad partial run with a bad team, who, after being a national stud in high school and college where everything more or less went his way, learned humility the hard way by being a UFA and then dismissed as a backup on the basis of 4 of those 5 games in 2010. who refused to just fold up his tent, but took over a winless demoralized team, without TC first team reps and with fans actively rooting against him, dug in and made some good things happen the second half of the year. I respected his moxie and tenacity. Frankly he's the kind of underdog you naturally want to root for. He had something to prove, pressure to prove it before being permanently stereotyped with maybe this being his last stand, and to some extent he acquitted himself well.

I too am fine with a fair TC competition and letting the coaches whose jobs are on the line decide. I will concede that in defending him, resentment to his over-the-top disdain, disrespect and dismissal as being unworthy may have in turn resulted in some over-torqued, dogged defenses of him beyond his realistic capabilities.

I just think as the guy who reflects on our franchise, there's a lot to respect and admire about him and his backbone.

The problem with Matt Moore is that I don't think he's a good fit for the WCO. Isn't a big part of the West Coast Offense being able to deliver the ball accurately above the waist so that the receiver can catch it in stride and pick up YAC? I'm sorry, Matt Moore's a gutsy player and he can do some things very well, but his accuracy is all over the place.

I agree with the above. Hope that maybe coach Philben/coach Sherman can teach him some way to increase his short/medium range accuracy.

Some good posts in here, I think as a fanbase, we are all just tired of sucking while we have seen the Pats contenders for 12 years now and the Jets reach back to back AFC Championship games recently. Besides our 1 flukey 2008 Season it has been a long nightmare. I think we all miss Marino and lose patience in the QB here if we don't find success quickly. Also, in our minds I think we all think we know what is best and aren't afraid to state it on here, right or wrong. It is what makes this site great! Like I said before, I care waaaaaaaaaayyyyyy more about winning than being right. I would love to have another Marino, but I will take an Eli Manning! I just want a QB who isn't a liability! Man, is that too much to ask?! Hopefully Moore can eliminate the fumbles, generate more yardage, and just play ball at the end of games and hit the plays he missed last year!

Belichick's personnel moves have been garbage since Pioli went to KC. Funny, Pioli's been garbage without Belichick. Maybe the two will get back together, but as it is now, I see the Patriots taking a long walk off of a short cliff when Brady retires.

100% behind Garrard. I think he could give us Pennington-like production.

I love his interviews so far. I love the fact he wants to be here and he sounds like a great leader.

Out of the options that were available to us in free agency - Flynn, Smith, Manning and our own Moore, I am glad that we stuck with Moore. Neither Smith nor Flynn offered dramatic upgrades and Manning was very expensive/risky.

So, I am with you [OP] and only time will tell if he can perform well in the WCO...

Well hopefully he is better than the last Jacksonville Jag we got who gave a good interview......dang, I can't remember the receivers name. He didn't do crap! What was that guys name?

Wow Vaark: I think that is one of the best posts i've seen on this forum in a long time.

I'm pulling for Moore also.

GO PHINS~!

well, I'll play the debbie downer I guess.

it's not secret I have very little faith in matt moore. my question now becomes... IF we fail again... how many threads will I have to read through shifting blame from moore to one of either...
1. our WR corps is not good at all
2. he has no true #1 WR, even though half this board is quite happy marshall was dealt.
3. it's a new system, he's not familiar with the WCO
4. very unlikely, gararrd beats him out, thus making the coaches in some peoples eyes.. foolish or just plain incompetent.

I also hope he wins. thats the point, winning football games, as a fan thats obviously what you want. but the bottom line, I don't see any improvement in this team from last year, I could even go so far as to say, IMO.. we've made ourselves worse.. I realize the draft has to play out yet, but unless your somehow going to convince me we get 3-4 starters and immediate impact guys... I'll remain skeptical.. the other argument will be it's a team game, even though we all know that at the end of the day, the qb gets the cred and he's ultimately the guy who the wins and losses are based off of....
