1st round pick- i know its early but just wanted all of your thoughts

Jake Long would be a very good pick, but I think he already stated that he is most likely staying for another year at Michigan.

jake lone is a monser 6-7 317lbs

I think our biggest need is still QB-Pepper is done, and Harrington I see as a more accurate/less mobile Fiedler. A caretaker, good, not great. Might win a game for you, probably wont lose it, wont take it over.
However the QBs in this draft are difficult to assess. We likely are way out of range of Quinn, Brohm may not come out, Stanton is talented but likely a project, and Smith is just intriguing.
Id say if he comes out, Brohm could be around where we are picking. And unless a top end LT drops to us we will be picking defense, likely someone like Adams or Woodley.

OLB is the top priority, then LT, and a speed WR/RS who can relieve Welker of return duties so he can focus more on receiving. Wes takes too many big hits (which occasionally results in fumbles, esp. in returns) in a game and a return specialist with receiving skills would be a great asset.

Whoever is the best player on the board out of the four positions of offensive tackle, linebacker, wide receiver, and safety. I guess a slight bias could be placed on tackle and linebacker since we will probably be looking for talent which could possibly start on game one.

I very seriously doubt we'll draft a safety in the first 3 rounds. Jerimiah Bell has really come around, and Jason Allen will be expected to produce next year.

I'd say: OT LB DT or CB depending upon best available of those 4. QB could also be an intriguing option depending upon who is available in the first three rounds. I would think we should be able to get pretty good players at three of those positions in the first three rounds...

LB is easily in my eyes the biggest need in this draft maybe 2 of them. . . followed by LT (I like Dmac, but would be nice to have a potential stud at the position to compliment Carey on the right side, Dmac would start again next year and the rook would take over in year 2 or maybe even a bit later if Dmac plays well).

WR is a questionable need, I mean I am worried about the Hagan drops, but I think he will be fine. But even if he is, its looking like Booker may not be back . . . so Chambers, Hagan, Welker . . . and hopefully Vick or Gibson steps up . . but I guess a WR is possible in the draft.

If a potential "shut down CB" is available . . that is an option, but I think we are good w/ our young CB's.

DLine is interesting . . . we are stacked with youth, but definetly could probably use a big time End to eventually replace JT . . Roth looks like a player to start on the other side.

Possibly Kicker . . . but only second day.

ESPN's site says he's a Junior, but the Michigan site says he's a Senior. Which one is wrong?

he is a redshirt junior so I guess both are right depending on how you look at it.

Woodley, JT and Roth rushing the QB????

That would be great! but I think we need a WR with alot of speed, a homerun hitter. Other needs are LB and OL.

i might get shot for saying this....but if u ask me, we need to pick up a CB with our 1st pick. i think we are fine at safety, we have lots of d-linemen, and i think we will go for an OLB in the FA's...we need a shutdown corner, despite having Allen/Daniels/Goodman, possible Poole on the roster...none of them are shutdown types.

if our O-line stays consistent, we dont need to draft one in the 1st round...RBs are fine, QBs are fine, TE's are fine, u dont draft a fullback with the 1st pick, and WR's......well Calvin and Ginn will be gone by the time we pick.

so id choose a CB......anyone else agree??

I think we could use a top-notch Center...we could probably get Doug Datish of Ohio State in the 2nd round.
