2-6 in our last 8 games.

In the last 7 games we have scored 9 points in the 4th qt. We have 4 TDs in the 4th qt all season and one was a pick six by Reshard Jones another was in mop up while the Saints crushed us. We haven't scored 28 points or more in a game. All said it's the fans fault!

Straight talk dude. Like it. We can all make excuses, but that is the truth man. Tired of accepting mediocrity, blaming refs, and blaming injuries. Coaches and Players not getting the Job Done. Want to Win.

Joe Philbin hired a staff not on meritocracy, but personal connections.

Bingo. Something I said when he picked his staff. I still like Philbin, but I think the coaching staff should be reworked. I also think Ireland should be nixed. It's been the same troubles since he came here with Parcells. This season is seriously like an amalgamation of the past 5 years of Dolphins football all neatly packed into one season. The same pitfalls, the same self-destruction, the same untimely everything. Personally, I think it comes from the top. Ireland has done a decent job, but decent doesn't cut it.

Philbin has his moments, but the way it looks is that he really defers to Sherman and Coyle and doesn't bother putting in his own input because he is close with them. So it's a disjointed team with very little chemistry all around. Chemistry stems from the head coach being able to put the three phases of the game together to reflect a team, but with so many opinions it's like the team is being pushed and pulled in so many different directions leading to inconsistency and a feeling of no identity. That can happen when you bring in peers, and a former boss. Philbin can't be Sherman's boss because Sherman was already the man in charge when Philbin was just a positions coach in Green Bay.

I'm hoping for some change in the offseason, but I don't necessarily think that Philbin should be fired, yet. The team does lack that go-for-the-jugular killer instinct, though, and that might be on Philbin. The playcalling goes to **** once we are in the lead and the Defense can't hold off any team when we are up. There are drives where we crush opponents on both sides of the ball and then fail to adjust to the opponents adjustments. This was the exact opposite in the first 3 games where we played a slow first half and then made great adjustments to control the second half of the game. We were the best second half team in the league to start the season and then our o-line crumbled and our D decided to let up inopportune drives to keep teams in games.

We're also 2-2 in our last 4 games. That's .500 which will probably get someone into the playoffs. Just sayin...

The firing of Ireland would be addition by subtraction. We would be instantly better going forward.

During the game thread I was constantly posting that we should throw it deep. With the defense that Carolina was playing, we should have thrown deep 20 times to Wallace and Hartline during the game.
Chances are we would have connected with 5-10 of those deep throws putting us in the end zone or scoring position.
All those short throws for losses and short throws in front of the sticks were just playing right into Carolina's hand. We could not run or dink and dunk against their front 7.
If I was the OC, I would have thrown it deep on every 1st down and keep doing it until they dropped their safeties. We do not dictate, we adapt and "take what is given".
We should have blown them out IMHO

People talk about half time lead, those were 2 bombs to Wallace that just as easily could not have been. The more obvious symptom is that this offense cannot sustain drives. The reason for that is poor talent, starting with the line, down to receivers and running backs, and the QB as well. We are not good enough on offense across the board. The best thing this team has on offense is Wallace deep. The week before, it was Clay's wild run, but those spectacular plays are few with this roster.

This is because Philbin and his system are ruining this team. He's in his second year with additional talent, yet the offense is regressing in almost every category. Even an o-line that was somewhat decent at blocking under the previous regime looks terrible with Philbin's new schemes. We used to have a running game and were able to stop the run. The team changed defensive schemes too, and now a once dominant run defense is pathetic. The ONLY improvement on this team this year has been due to Grimes and Patterson (when he's on the field).

I never cared for the West Coast style offense, and it was a huge mistake bringing it to Miami.
