2 LBs that we could take a look at ?

b nice to have competition for the spot.but are these guys really competition?

Did you just compare a pro bowler like Grimes to a journeyman scrub like Quentin Groves? Please rethink this statement. We need to see what we have @ LB already not add new iffy parts.

Wheeler and Ellerbe deserve another year to show what they truly have.

NO , all he is saying is look how well Grimes turned out , he was injured , and how many sacks did our boy wheeler had last year ? he was making a point that just because a player is released dosent mean that they dont have talent >? and as i said when i started this thread is they should take a look at these 2 players NOT Sign them , (Kick the tires ) The Browns are loaded at most possions , but i would Take 6.5 sacks all day long over wheeler right about now .

There will better LB's come early September when teams get down to 53.

That's my thinking as well. Give the coaches more time to see what they have and, if need be, look for better value on late cuts or maybe even a trade. We do have plenty of money available.

Wheeler had only 1 sack last year but 27 total QB pressures, putting him at #3 of all 4-3 OLB's. The year before, he had 3sacks and 30 pressures which was second of 4-3 OLB's. That was not his problem. His coverage and run D taking a nose dive from the year before, on the other side, were. Also, his missed tackles doubled in 2013 from 9 (average) to 18 but 10 were in 2 horrible games. He does have some talent.

I'll rethink the statement after you reread the post.

Groves was a pass rush specialist... who could not get to the passer?

Groves is more a pass rush specialist and 34 fit anyways...and you'd be adding someone who could potentially take snaps away from dion Jordan in the sub package...

It's just not a need for Miami...barring an injury in the two deep...and even then you'd have to hide it in our d on early downs...doesn't make sense

If I'm remembering Groves right as the athletic pass rusher out of Auburn I have to admit I was enthusiastic about him coming out of the draft. Boy was I wrong on that one. He just isn't a fit right now. Grant is a Meh to me. I don't mind a nice vet pickup at mike but I don't see it here.

If the Browns don't want them why the hell should Miami. If they can't make the Browns....that should tell ya something

like a player who did not perform on one team never ever produced on his new team with a fresh start
