The point Breck is that all these moves and strategies mold the nucleus of the Fins future. To say it's pointless is a mistake.
What Lee says is true. If they wanted the free agents we signed above the ones we courted and brought in then don't you think the ones we signed would have been the ones we brought in for interviews?

Maybe none of these guys will ever make an NFL squad but missing just one diamond in the rough can be what makes the difference in a teams future. I think Lee brings up a valid point and a good question for an interview with some of the Fin brass in the future. I'd be curious to find out why FA's we put so much time into never made it here.
