I'm not even sold on Leinart. I question his arm strength and think he may just be a product of a great QB-friendly system and great talent around him. Before the national championship game last year, I was hearing he was not a 1st round pick. Then suddenly he becomes a No. 1 overall? He did put up nice numbers, but so does every QB that gets drafted at all.
he is..he has great talent around him..i swear he reminds me of ken dorsey...Mel kiper is pretty good at what he does and knows his stuff...i would trust him over anyone else just about...but i wanna see omar jacobs play..since he was a rival against my old high school

No franchise quality LTs will fall that far. It's not like there are a million of them, and this team needs to get one of those guys who will anchor the line for upwards of a decade. If the team picks top 15, they'll get one of the last LTs. If they pick much lower than that, I worry the team will have to trade up to grab one.

I know there are a million Marino fanboys around here (and I'd love to have Dan in his prime these days myself), but a franchise LT is the most valuable commodity in football precisely because he's the guy who keeps all of your QBs from getting killed by the blind side rush.
I would rather a great QB and a solid LT than a great LT and a solid QB.

Don't count on Marcus Vick being a starting QB, he is not like Michael Vick and doesn't have the same abilities.
Actually some feel he is a better passer than Mike with similar speed. He probably won't be as much of a playmaker with his feet, but could be a more complete QB.

You would? If you skimp on the LT and invest in an expensive rookie QB, you're going to end up with David Carr (or a player who breaks Carr's sack record). I understand your fantasy teams don't draft an offensive line, but haven't we seen enough bad OL play here in Miami to never want that again? A great line will win championships, and a great line starts at LT.

That's what I have heard as well. He doesn't come close to having that "Vick" gear that allows Mike to do the stupid stuff you see on his commercials, but I understand him to be a purer passer...more like cousin Aaron than his own brother. I cannot imagine him coming out after this year unless he puts up a Heisman-winning year, though.

Mel Kiper said on Espn radio today that this is a bad QB class(the weakest in a long time)..said after Leinart he doesnt project another QB in the top 20!!!! Also said its the BEST class of LT's in a while.

There is a long way to go and things change and stars emerge but It might be a better idea to get our LT first and foremost...and get a QB 2nd round or 3rd round.

I hope you're wrong....

See, you sound informed so I tend to believe you. Analysts often guess I think. Thanks for that good news.
