2006 Bad year for QB's

2006 is weak for QBs..........that's what I've read so far.

But strong on LTs.

Kiper is right on this one.......for once.

Kiper doesnt know ****.He favors all the usc playas.I know more then him prolly. This is the year of the Qb.I gurantee it

Jimmy brings up some good points. The Left tackles that will go in the first round are all extremely talented and could become franchise players. I think Ferguson is the best by far, but guys like Winston are still great prospects.

Your forgetting one of the most accurate of QB's, Bruce Gradkowski of Toledo. He is of the same mold of the MAC Conference QBs such as Pennington, Leftwich, and Roethlisberger. He is the next big thing out of that conference. I am going to keep a good watch on this guy this year. He is a gamer.

Hmmm...he is the next big thing? You do know Jacobs, they guy with the 41-4 td int ratio is in the MAC right? Just checking.

You would? If you skimp on the LT and invest in an expensive rookie QB, you're going to end up with David Carr (or a player who breaks Carr's sack record). I understand your fantasy teams don't draft an offensive line, but haven't we seen enough bad OL play here in Miami to never want that again? A great line will win championships, and a great line starts at LT.
I'm not saying I don't want any kind of talent at LT. I don't want the QB to be killed, but I wouldn't mind a solid LT that may not dominate, but is capable, and a great QB.

This is clearly a horrible QB class. Besides Leinart the QBs everybody keeps mentioning as possibilities are juniors. Some may come out if they have stellar seasons but you can't bank on it. As of right now there is only one QB with a first round grade that is coming out.

Mel Kiper has no clue as to what QB's will show up this year at this point. In two months from now, he will change his opinion. Gauroooooonteeeeeeed!

The reality is that both QB and LT are glaring needs right now. Saban will simply take the BPA out of those 2 positions. Also will depend on the progress of our o-line this year. If Houck coaches 'em up and Carey can deliver, it may not be as pressing, so you could wait a round on LT. I don't see either QB progressing to the point where we're not looking hard next year.
