If Will Poole and Travis Daniels are our corners were in trouble..no offense to daniels and poole but we need better cb's

yea..daniels was good sometimes..but not SOLD on him..and Poole who knows how he's gonna come back. they COULD be pretty good..

How do you figure we need 2 CB really bad? We already have Travis Daniels who played very well at the end of the year as a rookie. If Poole returns to form he can be solid at the other corner.

who is our number 1 CB? poole? the guy that we haven't seen what he canreally do? is that a good way to go into teh season? or how about mitchell which no one has seen but i guess has insane speed at 4.29 or whatever on the 40. whose is your next guy? who is our safety without lance? tillman? HA! plz he is a good back up and thats it. bell? ehh i dono about being a starter but he IS a playmaker so not too comfrotable with him being our guy either.

I know that this has been discussed ad nauseum for since Matt Cassel's final pass hit the frozen turf in Foxboro back in January's win in New England, but I really think we have the making of a truly devastating force in the NFL this fall....if everything does fall into place (excuse the pun), just look at the possibility...................

2006 Miami Dolphins Starting Offense

Wide Receiver Chris Chambers, Marty Booker
Tackles Tom Ashworth (left), Vernon Carey (right)
Guards Rex Hadnot (right), Jeno James (left)
Center Kevin Mawae
Tight End Randy McMichael
Quarterback Drew Brees
Running Backs Ronnie Brown, Ricky Williams
Full Back Damian Barnes

2006 Miami Dolphins Starting Defense

Defensive Ends Kevin Carter, Jason Taylor
Nose Tackles Keith Traylor, Sam Adams
Defensive Tackles Vonnie Holliday, Manuel Wright
Linebackers Zach Thomas, Channing Crowder, Donnie Spragan
Cornerbacks Travis Daniels, Will Poole
Safeties Lance Schulters, Yeremiah Bell

Couple that without the coaching staff Saban has built, plus the draft and I'd say we have one helluva team!
:dolphins:

also the secondary still worries me, do you think we'll draft/sign a corner/safety as a priority?

It's still a little early, but I hope your right. We absolutly need to draft some corners this year. Also... to anyone. How do I reply to a message without having the post I'm replying to come up as well? Thanks...still new to this.

you guys talk about an aging receiver in T.O who didn't play but 7 games last year and busts it on every play, but would love to have a aging LB like McGinist who used to dog it when Pete Carroll was the coach of the Pats

factor in the draft, and we sign tank williams instead of ashworth, draft whitworth 2nd round, and Tye Hill/Ko Simpson/Michael Huff 1st, and youre lookin good

hey did you hear T.O just brought a house in the Miami area, he could be on his way. you never know. his how this team should on offense hopefully qb Brees rb Brown & Williams fb Barnes & Morris wr Chambers & T.O I think Booker will be traded for some reason, te McMicheal OL Carey , James, Hadnot and Mawae On Defense DE Carter & Taylor DT Adams & Holiday LB Thomas Chowder Peterson CB Law, Daniels , Poole S Schulters Hope And with the Draft 1 Round Pick OL Winston Justice 2 Round Pick CB Cedrick Griffin 3 Round Pick QB Charlie Whitehurst 4 Round Round Pick WR Brandon Marshall What Do You Think Of A Team Like That

South Beach is a popular area for celebrities, and Terrel Owens could be considered one.

in the espn power rankings we are 8.
and as they reported the top ten they said, "look for the dolphins to move up even farther after free agency and the draft, they could be top five easily"

i never saw that, do you still have the link or no, because I would like to read that article...thats awsome. thanks

If our defense can gel into a reliable and efficient unit, we can give any team a run for their money every game.

Did I miss something here? When did Poole ever have a form to return too? Did he play a full game or something ever?

Yes, against San Francisco @ Monster Park :tantrum:

I look at it this way. If Miami had Brees last year, even with some significant holes, the Dolphins probably would have won 11 games and an AFC East title. I don't think they would have gone too far in the playoffs, but you never know.

Looking at the primary weaknesses.

QB - Signing Brees would take care of that. Maybe the 5th best qb in football.
C -- Mawae (sp) can still play at a high level IMO and was the Jets best player for many years.
LT -- draft and/or a servicable vet like Ashworth?
S -- draft
CB -- draft
LB -- draft
NT -- Adams -- don't know how much he has left. Miami needs to bring in a young guy with top talent here eventually.

So a lot of work to be done, but not impossible.

One really good one might do, but in the best case scenario I think Daniels moves to FS or nickel/dime. I like Poole, but I have a feeling Saban views him as more of a nickel/dime guy as well. Obviously, there is a lot of work to be done in the secondary -- probably three new starters are needed.

Agree. In fact, I think we need three new starters in the secondary. I'd move Daniels to FS.
