2009-2010 Miami Heat Thread: Race to the Finish

I think LeBron will end up staying in Cleveland, especially after they got Antwan Jamison at the deadline.

Couple that with their trade for Shaq, and I really think Cleveland is trying to send the signal that they're willing to get the pieces necessary for him.

If Wade stays, I think we'll get Boozer or Bosh next to him.

I could see him jumping to Chicago, but I think he'll end up staying in Miami.

Lebron probably stays if he thinks he can win a title with this team. And at least right now its looking pretty good.....of course we would have said the same thing last year around now. I think hes gone if the Cavs get knocked out before the finals. That team isn't going to be getting any better over the next few seasons.

If Wade stays the first call goes to Lebron, then Bosh, then Amare.... If those three decline who knows what you do. I'm not convinced Wade + Boozer, Joe Johnson or Gay, is the nucleus of a contender.

I think Boozer is the guy we look to if we can't get a Bosh/Amare/James. I don't know that it'll necessarily work, but I think that's the route we take.

Cleveland and LA built contenders with a superstar and a bunch of second tier players.....so it is possible. Its just so much easier if you have two star players and the only thing the GM can screw up is the role players and the draft.

Riley has wasted two years of Wade's playing life.....including his greatest to date. I don't expect a championship team next year but he at least has to put together a team that you can see has the potential to contend.

It is getting to the point where the Heat may not make the playoff this season. The team IMO are becoming an embarrassment for regressing from fifth in 2008-09 to ninth or worse in 2009-10, even without a significant roster subtraction. :bobdole: I don't know what will turn this negative swoon around... But I hope it happens real soon... Or this will be a dismal season...

"I have every indication from Dwyane that this is where he wants to be," Arison said, with Wade holding an opt-out clause at season's end. "He loves Miami. He'd like to spend his whole career. But the reality is I don't have a signature on a contract. Obviously we talked about an extension this summer. I was disappointed we couldn't come to an agreement, but that was Dwyane's right. ... Every indication I have is that this is where he wants to be."

Not sure what you expected. They were a .500 team last year with Wade healthy and playing at an extremely high level. Beasley got better, Cook and Chalmers regressed, and Wade has been less healthy/motivated. In the end they should be around where they were last year.....40 wins and somewhere between 5 and 8.

I really think they just blew this season off in favor of next year after this summer's FA bonanza.

Officially desperation time as they squeak by an injury riddled Warriors team....Spoelstra pulls Skip early and he never returns.....takes out Beasley as well. The offense is pathetic when not run through Wade or O'Neal.

And Curry is going to be really good. To think the kid has only played one year as a PG.....I sure hope he can find some way to escape Nelson and the asylum they run up in northern cal.
