I have to say, I'm glad that if the rival Kings were to make a trade with Columbus, I'm glad they ended up with Carter instead of Nash! Jack Johnson, to me, hurts them more than giving up the 1st round pick, but it's probably a deal that will help both teams. Columbus has sorely needed a good puck moving D-man for years, and in a year or two when Ryan Johansen has more seasoning, he and Nash (should he still be there) will form an incredible combo. I watched Johansen play junior hockey here in Portland and he is absolutely incredible. I've seen a lot of good players come through Portland and have great careers and I've never been as impressed with any of them as I am with him. With Johnson providing back end support and Yakupov likely coming in this years draft, their future outlook doesn't look so bad after all.
But back to Carter,I do expect him to play better in L.A. than he did in Columbus. They are obviously a better team, but I also think getting to play with his good friend Mike Richards again will help him out. You can never discount the role that having a player be comfortable and happy off the ice and in the locker room can be for their success.
