http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/players/1766814/ben-beckwithSTRENGTHS: Has the frame only an offensive line coach would love - broad shoulders and a thick lower half that makes him well-suited to winning the battle of leverage in the pit. Plays with excellent knee bend and good core flexibility to anchor against bull rushers and has impressive upper body strength and hand placement to latch and control. Athletic enough to slide laterally to mirror in pass protection, though he could improve in this area with better spatial awareness. Showed his versatility by sliding over to center in 2014 and has the bulk, determination and intelligence to handle this role in the NFL. Blue collar work ethic that rubbed off on teammates. Earned his way onto the roster with his toughness and work ethic after earning "zero stars" by recruiting experts despite playing lettering in football and basketball in high school.
WEAKNESSES: Is a good athlete for his build but only average in this regard in comparison to other offensive linemen in the 2015 draft class. A half-step slow off the ball and frequently is left to "catch" defensive linemen and ride their momentum out of the play. Gets a bit lazy at times, leaning into opponents and relying on his upper body strength to control them, leaving himself off-balance. Spends too much time on the ground, showing only average balance. Does not possess ideal foot speed or body control to adjust to moving targets at the second level.
