Weird, because last night I noticed that playing defense matters.
Bingo.

Our D would have Never been shredded through the air like that based off the last 11 games or so.

Always exception to the rule of course.

So, here's what Ive learned despite being a Tua homer and supporting him unconditionally.

We need better QB play to beat these teams. Ill be honest, I don't watch a lot of games other than the Dolphins games at all, but I do watch every play of every playoff game each year. Seeing some of these guys sling it around these past couple weekends has me concerned that the Tua haters might be right (and it hurts to admit that). These guys throw it 50 yards on the run, sling it sidearm, under duress, etc. They attack downfield and have cannon arms that drive the ball in tight windows. I don't think Tua will ever be that QB. I will give Tua the benefit of the doubt because some of them had all day to throw, or they had superior supporting casts with WR's that get open and make YAC. But man, I really want to see Tua hit the gym and get some zip on that ball.

We need a couple OT, a RB, and a WR. If we cant make chicken salad from chicken sh%t this year, then we have to draft a big arm in 2023.

Would the niners to get in, Garropolo takes a lot of heat so I would to see him prove em wrong. He's not the flashiest or a "great" QB but he is considered good to me.

It shows how urgent this hire is and how we simply can't get it wrong or we're set back another 3 or 4 years. Right now we are basically irrelevant to the rest of the NFL. They think we picked the wrong QB, we fired the wrong coach and we bet our money on the wrong horse, Grier. If we want instant credibility Doug Pederson or Harbaugh are about it. I hope we are trying to make that happen behind the scenes. Pederson and Marino are old friends so hopefully Dan can deliver him. If it's Frazier or Joseph it would flatline this fan base. Nobody wants either of those guys that I know of. They just would feel like a safe but awful hire. Either youngster like Moore or McDaniel is at least swinging for the seats and Daboll is my third choice after Pederson and JH.

It almost seems like Sanders and Beasley are “progress blockers” for Davis and MacKenzie. Nice problem to have for the Bills. I will say we played good defensively in the 2nd Bills game until Allen identified Beasley vs Needham. Then I felt like it was easy money on repeat.

Even when Allen plays a perfect game, it was not enough against Andy Reid and Mahomes. Must be really frustrating to loose 3 consecutive against Chiefs on playoffs. AFC is loaded with the best young QBs in the NFL, Mahomes, Allen, Burrow and Herbert are amazing. Coaches like Reid, Bellichick and Harbaugh. AFC is loaded, and Bills losing with a perfect game by Allen just remind us how far we are from the top of the AFC. Until we find the correct QB-HC combination we wont even have a chance against the Mahomes and the Reids. Its frustrating because if a team as strong as the Bills just cant get to the Superbowl, then to think what we need to get there is like not close at all. Better OL, better coaching, better QB play, weapons to match Bengals, Chiefs and Bills. That means at least another top WR and very good TE, good running game. So honestly I think is almost imposible to do all of this in one off season. No way we can get to the Superbowl in the AFC without a top 5 QB and a very good coach.

OK, I'm going OT.
what fans learned this weekend . . .
No above average OL = no wins in the playoffs
Every top 8 team has at least two WRs who can get separation and one should have speed (not saying waddle doesn't)
FH has (correctly) claimed an OC should have a game plan and be able to adjust. Top teams have effective blocking schemes and imaginative routes. ' Just a game plan' is for average teams
Garro and Stafford made it so we can dispense with the 'running QB.'
A top D with at least two solid pass rushers.
8 teams - not one of those Os had more than 3 pro-bowl players. All had a LOT of average and above average players.
8 teams - not one of those Ds had more than 3 pro-bowl players. All had a LOT of average and above average players.

Beasley vs about anyone

He was 11 for 19 for 131 yards and an interception. He also had a qb rating of 57.1. They are planning to move on from him in the offseason.

I just want a Tua lover to tell me we have a Josh Allen underneath center. I WANT you to TELL me that. I WANT TO BE THAT GUY! I LONG TO EAT CROW! You think I don’t want a QB? Dude, that whole Chad Penning was a Jet or Thurman Thomas was a Bills thing lingers on me. F@ck, it’s crazy. But I’ll take it. Anything to see our ballclub prosper. But if you’re telling me we have a young Josh Allen running our team, you are wrong, brother. You are wrong. Tua is a f@cking good QB. If we put a team around him, I AM CERTAIN HE CAN WIN. But can he do what you see these playoff, crazy QBs do? Can he? I don’t know. All I know is that I haven’t seen it.

What we learned is that our team is very far away from competing against the top teams in the afc. They are operating on a whole other level from ownership on down
