3-4 defense in the second half

I think the 5-2 or 3-4 or whatever you want to call it has been in the works the whole time as a plan to get Jordan and Vernon on the field together. The reason I was thinking that was was because Wake had an INT and a near INT deep down the field in training camp which obviously means they were toying with dropping our DEs back into coverage.

I credit Coyle with that win, to make the adjustments and incorporate the young personnel as he did was genius. We can win a lot of games with that type of creativity.

We have personnel to run either formation but I'm thrilled we prefer the 4-3. I despise the 3-4. The Canes currently run mostly 3-4. You should see the related threads on Canes websites, calling for Golden and D'Onofrio to be canned and a return to the 4-3 under a new regime.

While watching yesterday's game I was struck at how misplaced some of the Patriot defenders seem to be. Lost of angular types to be running a 3-4. That requires the nose tackle to be upfield and dominant. Wilfork doesn't qualify right now. The New England defense with those wide gaps relies on contemporary NFL, with not many teams willing or patient enough to pound away on the ground.

Regarding the Steelers, I know it's been forever but I still think of them as a 4-3 team due to the '70s.
