3 Things Philbin Wants RT to Improve On

Maybe it's just me but I always feel Tannehill is slow to "feel" the pressure and when he does finally see it has a "Oh ****!" moment in his head and kind of freezes up.

I don't think he had time to feel much. Pocket would collapse before he even finished his dropback

Hopefully we see an even more improved Tannehill in what is shaping up to be a better offensive line so far. The line isn't perfect but we have a lot of time to finish fixing and tweaking it. Now if that line is good to go and doesn't give up sacks like last year I think Tannehill will improve his stats across the board.

what I want to read is the 3 things that Philbin must improve on......

This is where putting RT in the pistol formation this year & last would give him a little extra which may be all he needs. Plus, it would take advantage of RT's mobility.

Hopefully, Lazor isn't as big of a blockhead as Sherman was.

I dont think 2013 was a fair assessment. He had something like 2 seconds to get rid of the ball before pressure came. I remember some games when he had less than a second. The ball would get snapped and bam the DL was all over him immediately.

Here's my 3 things for Ryan to improve on:

1. fix the deep ball to Wallace

2. fix the deep ball to Wallace.

3. fix the deep ball to Wallace.

If that happens Ryan can move to the next level.

I think the accuracy on the deep ball has more to do with pocket pressure than his actual skills. The major issue I have with his game is the level of awareness or unaware..ness? he seems to have in the pocket. He never really feels the pressure coming, but that is what most young Qb's go through during their development stage. Can he overcome that? He obviously doesn't have that 6th sense so he must learn it. He's definitely durable and a tough guy. People forget how much punishment that kid took the past 2 seasons and take that for granted. Most Qb's buckle and decline after taking the hits he has taken these 2 years where he has only gotten better.

I think he'll be fine in the long run, he just needs to learn when to tuck and run. That's the only part of his game that needs serious work. The accuracy and deep ball comes with repetition and time.
