3000 tickets unsold for MNF opener

The tickets r ridicules expensive buy it for me and I'll go for sure

Honestly I do not think there is any chance that the game will not be sold out. If anything ESPN will buy up the remaining tickets. And once again we will be declared a sell out and you'll see hundreds of empty seats in the stadium.

Why the (bleep) would ESPN buy the tickets? The game is on in 99.9% of the country. They don't care if its on in Miami or not. It's not their problem if a few thousand people who DIDN'T go to the game can't see it

the game will be sold out. most will be sold to fans but unfortunately a lot of pats fans will buy them up. some company will buy the rest so it wont be blacked out in so fla.

as for the streak its funny that some think its a real streak. we are not green bay where the stands are full when its sold out. corporations buy the tix in miami, but the seats remain empty. i hate to tell you people but that streak ended a long time ago. but go ahead and keep filling your heads with lies like we have some great fan base in so fla.

lower the ticket prices, also I find it funny when out of town fans tell locals to buy tickets

The opening game on Monday Night against a division rival should be a sellout, no question about it. The local fans need to do a better job supporting the team and this goes beyond when the team is losing. Even when this team is in the playoff hunt fans don't show up. You guys talk about a bad economy keeping fans away, which is why out of town fans can't bail out the local fans as much anymore.

Not selling out a home opener let alone on Monday night is sad.
Come up with any excuse you want to reason away not showing up but its this kind of local support that gets teams moved.

I have tickets to the Jets - Fins on MNF up here in the New Meadowlands on Oct 17. I'm seriously on the fence about buying tickets for the Houston game on 9/18, I priced airfare and everything. But to be completely honest, I'm a little nervous about commiting that much time and money for another game until I see what they're made of in week 1. If I still lived in Miami, I would be at both for sure, but...

Dude, this is exactly what I was just thinking. Having went to high school and college in Miami, I'll tell those who want to blame the economy...Please stop!...This was going on waaaay before the economy tanked. So Fl fans are just fickle and simply don't go to the games. I'm obviously not talking about all fans, but way too much for my taste. Most of my friends weren't even Dolphins fans and they were born and raised there. Even when the stadium is sold out, the atmosphere is relatively dead, much like it was for the Heat in the playoffs. I long for the day this changes, if ever.

It's not just one problem, there are a bunch of contributing factors that lead to so many tickets being available. The out of town fans that tell the local fans to be more supportive of the team need to stop. First, the tickets are ridiculously high priced for such a mediocre product on the field. Secondly, going to the games isn't a show up at one and leave at four kind of a deal. It's an all day thing that takes up your whole day. And last but not least, this team went 1-7 at home last year. I'm a fan no matter how bad the team is but its really difficult to get psyched about a team that was so inept at home last year. Fans will go to the games when they start winning on a regular basis at home.

Oh well.

Maybe they shouldn't have sucked for 10 plus years while I had the tickets...

The team made a business decision to put bad product on the field.

I made a business decision to not renew my seats.

Win. And people go.

Why support garbage?

I agree with the sentiments of some of the other posters here. Don't make excuses for our pathetic fanbase. Economy my ***.

I do enjoy the out of towners saying that we locals should buy it.

People rather spend the money else while watching at home. Why is this so hard to believe?

So we should continue wasting money on a BAD product?

They were 1-7 at home last year.

And face it the economy is going to be a reason for many to not renew their tickets. The cost of everything is going up. Why waste money on a football game when you can watch it at home for free?

They could try lowering prices some more for those upper seats for the non-divisional games. [Though not sure how much more, Dolphins average already below the league average]. 15,000 tickets remain for the Texans game, with 2 weeks to sell them. They probably need to sell about 10,000-13,000 of them, the rest can be bought up by whoever buys them up. TV, Radio, Corporations, Ross. Not sure if they can do it. Will have to find a Texans stream.

The Jaguars didn't have any blackout last year. I know they have like 10,000 less seats, but whatever they did works. Dolphins should do it and drop prices.
