Don't forget... the bears suck.

If you're basing that statement off of last season. We were worse.

AJ didn't? I thought AJ played as well as Gus. AJ didn't seem to have the awareness that Gus had but still made some pretty good throws.

Had DT caught the pass, he would have had stats similar to Gus' with a better comp %.

If DT had caught the pass the overall stats would have been:
33 for 47 373 yards (estimate) 2 TD's 1 INT, 70.2% comp. and 99 QB Rating

4. Teams that dare us to throw it this year will see us throwing it, and see us succeeding.
based on that preseason game? If so, The fins aren't in the same division as the bears and will find it harder to play against the ACFE D's.

Those are our combined QB stats for the game... if anyone had asked me before the game if I would take those stats, I and everyone else on here, would have taken them in a heartbeat. If you remove the Interception at the end that would have left us with a combined QB Rating of 104.3.

Here's a breakdown of each QB's stats

A.J. Feeley
4 for 7 0 TD's, 0 INT 35 57% completion and 70.5 QB Rating
(had DT caught his pass the comp goes to 71.4% and QB rating to 94.3)

Gus Frerotte
11 for 17 1 TD, 0 INT 143 64% completion and 110.6 QB rating

Sage Rosenfels
6 for 9 1 TD, 0 INT 58 66% completion and 121.5 QB Rating

Brock Berlin
11 for 14 0 TD, 1 INT 117 78% completion and 71.7 QB Rating
(Had he not thrown the Interception he would have had a 101.5 QB Rating)

So ponder and discuss... from those stats the QB position doesn't look too bad now does it?

How in the hell were you be able to calculate QB rating? Don't you need to have like a degree from MIT to be able to do that?

Anyway..good post.

I would advise against speculation like this. Perhaps Gus has a good completion percentage because he knows not to throw it to DT on 3rd down...

Yes, after one preseason game I can tell that our pass protection on the OL, especially on the perimeters, has improved enough that we will be able to get the ball down the field deeper than we were able to last season.

No you weren't... you were a .500 team easy in the NFC...

The bears were crap in the crappiest conference that ever crapped.

That's nothing but speculation. The truth is we were a worse team.

You can't take away the interception at the end of the game to improve the rating. There are many of those in the regular season, and they all count towards each QB's rating. That's like taking away a RB's lone 80 yard run and saying all his carries were under 3 ypcarry.

I didn't take it away from the original stats, I just added it in there so everyone can see what difference one play makes. I believe if Berlin had been in the same situation in the 5th preseason game, he wouldn't have made that throw. I think it being his first game and being in that situation caused him to make a bad decision and a bad throw. Just wanted to show that apart from that mistake we probably would have won the game and had nothing but great things to say about our QB corps.
