Another reason turk may be staying is cause he is mare's holder for pat's and fg's and mare may not feel comfortable with anyone else.

Yup, saying that Turk will be back to practice for next week's game clearly means Jones is cut. Too bad, he's the best challenger we've had for Turk's job in quite some time.

Barring a third of the punters in the league getting injuries, do you think we can hide him somewhere or will he be snatched up?

I was saying boo-urns...

It took me a while because I haven't watched in years, but isn't Burns his boss?

I'm not sure they'd reserve a spot on the PS for Jonescuz its not like he needs to stay up on the playbook or get chemistry with players to do his job...more likely we cut ties with him and if we need a punter at any point, hope he's available and ready to come in and kick. When a player is on your PS anyone can sign him to an active roster anyway so the only benefit to having him on the PS is getting him playing with the team. I doubt we really need that

Yeah, I don't know what I was thinking when I said hide him somewhere. Saban would be the laughing stock of the league if he put a punter on the practice squad, especially when the squad is supposed to mirror an up coming opponent (At least that's what I think they are for in addition to developing the guys). Now that I think about it, other teams might want to put one on their squad since we probably will be doing a lot of punting this year. :rofl3:

Yes. The premise is this. Springfield is having a film festival and all the locals turn in their entries. Mr. Burns's entry is an overproduced, expensive piece of poo that everyone hates. So, they start booing. Burns is mortified but his loyal assistant Smithers, swears that they are not booing, but in fact, saying boo-urns in praise. So, Mr. Burns ask the crowd if they are saying one or the other and is, of course, booed out of the building.

The crowd goes silent except for the funny old man Hans Moleman who declares that he, and he alone, was saying boo-urns. Hmmm, doesn't translate too well on paper but if you have seen the episode, it is a very funny bit.

If someone would ask me what I'd want in trade for Feeley, I'd probably ask them for a half eaten cheese sandwich.

Gov't cheese that is.

Sorry guys, I'm not a Gus fan or AJ hater. But I'm so tired of the DOlphins bein the home for wayward 2nd string QB's.

Said block on Vickerson was legal, so we can't chastise the other guy for it.

I just saw the hit for myself. The only thing that saved #66 AUSTIN KING is that he wasn't behind Vickerson when he hit him. But he wasn't infront of him either.

At the snap of the ball, Vickerson was engaged by the RG and the center and driven left, which was where the running backs were going. After following the RBs to the left side, the center disengaged leaving the RG on Vickerson, but never took his attention off Vickerson. When Vickerson recognized the bootleg had gone right (one second later), he disengaged the RG and turned right. And it was at this moment that the center (#66 Austin King) looked him right in face, then ducked his head and exploded into Kevin Vickerson's left knee from the side.

Alex Gibbs strikes again. Like Bob Griese said, King didn't have to do that. The play was well beyond them. It may be "legal", but it sure ain't right. It was cheap. Remember, Warren Sapp's hit on Chad Clifton was "legal". But it was a total cheap shot away from a play. Clifton spent a month in the hospital.

Even though it looked like he was waiting for Vickerson to come back to him so he could chop him, I don't think the Austin King was necessarily being low class or overly malicious here like Sapp was. I just believe that he's been coached that way by Alex Gibbs. It may be "just football", but only teams like Denver and Atlanta play it that way.

Honestly, when was the last time you saw one of our lineman pull a stunt like this??
