7/29 - Camp Tweets

problem with satele and it makes me a little nauseated is he makes for a very soft interior front...i mean everywhere he's been the teams have talked about the need to upgrade the toughness and the grit etc...soft interior fronts against our schedule is deep crap

roll with garner at least i know he wont be a disaster...and should pouncey come back there won't be much of a transition to take place...make garner a backup right tackle and interior swing player and pouncey back on the pivot...if he doesnt come back garner may be the best option anyways especially if larsen can't move and frankly athletically is worse than garner and brenner cannot handle strength

I like how one tweet says the defense looked bad and weren't making plays then Omar writes the defense dominated the offense...which is it?

meanwhile ESPN's crew is reporting nothing insightful

"Tannehill must improve deep ball, OL must get better"

Shockingly good analysis, oh wait, its ESPN.

It's funny since the two many times go hand in hand.

espn might have some good insight if they could get trent dilfer to davie to get a look...when you get just about all those other paid former athletes espn carries now to give good stuff on a player or team you might as well be listening to a drunk...they do zero homework and tell you nothing but filler...steve young is one of the worst for being completely unprepared...

Yeah when Dilfer actually goes out and does something he adds good stuff and it makes you think he could be a coach if he wanted to. When he was running the Elite 30 camp 2 years ago and ESPN was documenting it, he made great points that you don't really hear a lot from talking heads.

Dilfer is actually not bad, he's one of the few guys who gives some well thought out analysis

no report on brenner yet...i'd have to think if it was a torn achilles or something we would know by now...same for a broken ankle etc...maybe he got lucky...mri's cant take this long

IMO, moving him to Center, was a perhaps misguided attempt to get the 5 best healthy OL on the field together. We'll have to wait and see if his snaps improve, or if they don't and he gets moved back to guard.

I accept this a plausible reason, as well.

It's just frustrating not hearing anything about Larsen (good or bad) except 1 or 2 tweets when our team is at a crisis at C. No news isn't indicative of good news. But I would at least like to hear what people at practice are seeing from him. It baffles and frustrates me.

But, as you intimated, we'll just have to trust that the people making decisions are making the best possible ones to foster success.

Doesn't sound like the Smith audition at Center was Benton's call. It was Philbin. Not surprised there, won't be the last of idiotic coaching moves from him.

Can you explain why you think that? I haven't seen/heard anything that suggests that Philbin made this call.

I don't like it when things get over-dramatised on here, but in the case of this post, I don't think you're over-dramatising at all. Its a very fair point that Shelley could be getting his snaps down on the 2nd team line so as not to hold up the progress of this very new line. So far the high snaps haven't been so regular that its a serious problem, but the CBA has severely limited practice snaps and each one is pretty precious for the offense.

It is the 4th practice, so the statement is definitely too dramatic. I appreciate a mobile center. I am waiting to see if Shelly improves.

Obviously letting guys compete and wanting to see things with your own eyes is a sign of weakness for a head coach. Replacing a pro-bowl center should be eazy-peazy for anybody worth his weight in cow manure.

I read somewhere that Smith was told by Philbin that he wanted him a center, in light of the Pouncey injury. I could've been reading too much into it, though.

OL doing OK today. There have been holes for RBs. They've prevented DL from being disruptive. Tannehill been upright.

I like those words!
