Never an issue when Pouncey was in there.

Where are all those people that said Pouncey should be a guard and was "tipping" plays off to the defense? LOL. The kid I guess is not that bad of a C.

petty sure snaps are universal...practice scrimmage pads no pads
Maybe we should do an over under for botched snaps in Saturday's scrimmage. Set it at 3?

I'll tell you what I want to see is this play again reported by Armando:
Omar Kelly @OmarKelly · 1m
Pat Devlin gets a 30 yard reception to Pat Devlin moving the 2nd team offense to the 36-yard line.
I know some may credit Lazor for cutting edge play design on that one, but if you have an athlete who can consistently complete 30 yard passes to himself, I think we may have the next Wildcat.

John Jerry was the one turning his head I think.

Nope. I can remember posts of people saying that Pouncey was tipping plays off because certain things did not happen in the two games he missed. Silly talk, but it was there.

How much of bad snaps is on the quarterbacks?

Seriously. While I realize that this is happening to all of the quarterbacks (or so we are told), how much of this is on them? Because we know Nate Garner can snap the ball.

These are shotgun snaps that are either going over the QBs head or dribbling on the ground...how is that the QBs fault?

First off Pouncey looks through his legs right before every snap...that's a fact. Second, Pouncey had two years of botched snaps before he ever got it right...his senior year at Florida and his rookie year with us. You weren't screaming then to sign a veteran I bet.

May have been both then, because I remember people talking about Jerry turning his head on run plays, or pass, I forget which. I don't think anyone was overly concerned last year about linemen tipping off plays anyway. I think announcing what we were doing with a "Go!" or a "Go! Go!" made it unnecessary to read line men's heads.

I was thinking McCain was a practice squad candidate but if he's running with the 1's he might make the 53. It would seem Koa Misi, Phillip Wheeler, Dannell Ellerbe, Jelani Jenkins and Jordan Tripp are locks to make the team. Does that mean Trusnik is out? I have a hard time thinking Trusnik doesn't make the squad because of his special teams ability.
Maybe Freeny is on the bubble? One of his best skills is on Special Teams but Tripp can handle that. McCain is a very tall, fast guy who can handle himself in rough situations. There are not many 6'5" Linebackers.

About time we found an offensive coordinator who can get the best out of the players.

I looked at the numbers, and the 2 games Nate Garner started at center we caused about as many offsides penalties on the opposing defense as we drew in like 12 games with Pouncey at C. He is a good player, but he has a tell on his snap. He just does.

Come on…first the sample size is so small and I think it has more to do with a fatigued Chargers and Panthers front.

Even if it is true, it is nice to have offside penalties. It is even better to have a guy that can snap the ball successfully and be able to pull almost better than any C in the game.

Nate Garner has proved he can play C competently in actual games, so I'm not going to panic about the botched snaps just yet.

agreed. Alot of todays snaps came through 3 different people. Arkin is in no way a center. Just gotta say, keep workin Larsen as backup. its early.
