7-9 - The Tragic Number

There is no good, unless it is 10 wins or better.
The catch-22 is if we have a losing record we should change things up....of course this results in the endless cycle of change to make personnel fit the scheme of the new couches....

Even if we don't win another game, I really doubt Philbin will be gone. I am quite confident when Ross takes everything into consideration (bullygate), and the rash of injuries (Keller and Gibson) among other things (only being on the job for 2 yrs, 2nd yr qb) he will allow Philbin to try and right the ship. I mean look how long he has given Ireland.....now I don't think Ireland is safe at all.

I remember hating the days of 7-9 with Dick Jauron as HC of the Bills.

I feel your pain Dolfans......

Ireland is gone unless they make the playoffs. Heck, they could make the playoffs and he still may be gone. But you are right, Ross will sadly give Philbin a reprieve no matter what...

I can only hope Gruden gets in Ross' ear and begs for the job so he might change his mind...

we win 6 games at the absolute most. hopefully that gets us a new gm and head coach.

I don't think we end up 7-9. Maybe 8-8 , even 9-7 and barely missing the playoffs.

7-9 is very likely right now looking at the remaining schedule. The Dolphins will probably only be favored in one of those games.

We are 2-6 in our last 8 games. The only reason we beat the Bengals is because they played like **** and our defense did not. We were lucky to win that game!

With how we played the last 2 months, how the hell do people think all of a sudden we are going to start playing winning football and win at Jest, at Steelers, NE, at Jill's and then against the Jest.

With how we've played we'd be lucky to win 2 more games. This team plays down to the talent level and also matches the performance of the other team no matter how bad they perform.

This team is so poorly coached it should be illegal especially with how good the defense is. But the defense statistically is no good because they are out on the field for 2 thirds of the game every week, no wonder they are wearing down! The offense can't sustain a drive and when they do they screw it up.

The way these coaches have coached the last 2 months it will be a miracle to finish 7-9, those expecting anymore really live in fantasy land!

Tragic??? 7-9 is like a old lover slipping into your bed on a cold winter night. She holds you, kisses you, tells you how much she misses and loves you, and sends you off to sleep with promises of a morning filled with excitement. Then the sun wakes you up, the bed is empty just like your living room and you realize all your crap is gone.

More like you wake up and realize it is some fat hog that you drank skinny!

The final record alone will not dictate the future. The outcome of this investigation will weigh heavily on the decision.

Philbin isn't going anywhere. He is basically in the same position of Will Muschamp... he will get next year and a pass due to all the off-field problems and injuries. Personally I think Philbin is a good coach who has done the best he could do with this mess.

Ireland is gone if no playoffs for the simple reason that he had "picks and money" and finished the dreadful 7-9.

totally agree spot on. On paper this is a 4-12 team. But the D has been exceptional and did win the Cincy AND SD games. The offense is horrid.

I don't know if the D is exceptional or not but they have done enough to win most games except maybe the Saints game. The problem is the offense never takes the pressure off or even gives them any extended breaks. We don't even know what the defense is capable of with a 20-30 point lead.
