After what he did with san diego i have no doubt he is the best in the league and will make us 100% better.

100% is duplicating what u have. If u double what we had last year we would still stink. Sooo he will make us at least 400% better. :D

Not to negate in any way Houck's coaching, but I think he also has some better material to work with: McDougal over St. Clair, Hadnot at Center over McKinney, and Carey sounds like he's living up to 1st round billing, Middleton at RG(soon). Easy to make chicken salad with these chickens. Those upgrades should be credited to Saban and his personnell staff.

That isn't that different, we had Hadnot and Carey last year too. Plus not all of our starters were even in.

if he turns a 55 sack, 2 worst run game in the NFL O-line into top 15 ill be extactic

Guys, while Houck is a great coach, you have to realize our personnel is no where near the same as last year.

2004:
LT: Damion McIntosh
LG: Jeno James
C: Seth McKinney
RG: Taylor Whitley (played the majority, then Hadnot came in)
RT: John St. Clair

2005 Probable Opening Day Line:
LT: Vernon Carey
LG: Jeno James
C: Rex Hadnot
RG: Frank Middleton
RT: Stockar McDougle

THAT'S A HUGE IMPROVEMENT!!!

- Wanny and crew couldn't get Carey to play RG. Now this guy has him playing LT??!!!?? The same guy who couldn't play the easisest postion now can start and play the hardest?

- Gee Coaching does matter.

i didnt know there was such an award...is it mainly for getting a group to play better than the previous year or best oline as a whole?

Also kinda shows you Speilman was pretty good at evaluating talent...Its seems his love for Wanny was his biggest downfall.

Not to be negative, but is the oline that much improved or is the DL that bad. Might be a combination of both. Should be interesting to watch on Monday night.

So does experience. Robert Gallery didn't start at the beginning and played alot of Guard because the Raiders had Sims at Tackle and its a much harder position to play than G. Linemen need some time to adjust like WR usually..

Technically, making us 100% better means twice as good.

I couldn't agree more! That's a huge improvement and a very impressive looking line if they stay healthy and gel well together through camp and the preseason!

Well, good news just seems to be ocming in droves right now. I suppose any good news ( preseason or otherwiae ) is welcome. Jeno James has been out an awful long time which concerns me, however, when he comes back, we should have a pretty decent starting corps with our backups having some experience.

Another thing to think about. If Hadnot and Carey start and excell in their spots ( LT, C ), we will have two YOUNG cornerstones at the two hardest positions to fill opn the line. McDougle, James, Middleton and others will porbably come and go over the next couple of years but those two could be around for awhile and help anchor a line.

I am excited right now. I can't wait for Monday.

Def great great news. Cant get too excited but like i said its just so good to think that our team will be able to give our qb time
