90% negativity from all the posters

No i didn't but, I will not post mindless drivel in a thread defending someones right to say that it is ok to say we suck when are suppose to be fans of the same team.

What is or is not "mindless drivel" all depends on one's perspective. While a post that only says "We suck" is as useless as a post that only says "Playoffs baby!," if the "We suck" post also includes some insight as to how we might not suck in the future, it's better than "mindless drivel" ...at least to me it is. YMMV.

Consider this though, if we were all blind homers ...if we all bought season tickets, went to every game and filled every seat in the stadium ...if we all bought the jerseys and the hats and the foam fingers and whatnot ...if we did all those things not matter how bad this team plays and no matter for how long they play poorly, what incentive would management have to make this team better?

The anti-Ireland, anti-Philbin, and anti-Tannehill people aren't walking in lockstep, so I can't really speak about anyone's opinion but my own.

Tannehill - He's a huge question mark for me. I'm not sure if he ever develops the kind of football sense he's going to need to stop making the stupid mistakes. But maybe he will. I'm not in the dump Tannehill camp but I wouldn't be opposed to spending a 1st round pick on a quarterback in 2015 if a great one falls into our lap.

Philbin - The man is so flat we should be calling him Stanley. He surrounded himself with coaches of questionable skills and, in my opinion, put nepotism in front of need. I don't think he has a very good feel for the pulse of the locker room. He's uninspiring. I don't care if he finishes the season or not because I don't think there's anyone on the staff that really deserves an interim gig.

Ireland - Get him out and the sooner the better. The more time a new GM has to evaluate the team and its needs, the better. Ireland took over a 7-9 team and four years later we were still a 7-9 team. We'll see if we improve significantly over that by year's end, but color me doubtful.

Also, despite having the same record as the Jets, the Jets have the better division record at this point and have the tiebreaker over us. So we're not really tied, we're behind them.

I'm not going to disagree with you on Tannehill. I have questions about him too. But it's hard to tell how these guys come along. SD let go of Brees for Rivers. Eli was thought to be nothing for a while there, and then he was something and got 2 Super Bowls, and now he's nothing again. But what I do know is that Tannehill's shown flashes. We drafted him knowing it'd take time to develop him. So let him develop.

Philbin, I just think that people focus too much on the details. These past 3 weeks have been exceptionally tumultuous to say the least. And we come out 2-1. There's a lot of negatives that could be focused on sure. But like I said, I think he deserves to be judged at the end of the season.

And we're essentially tied with the Jets. We still have 2 games against them. We beat them, we're going. They beat us, they're going.

We know the answer to that question. Just take a look at the Chicago Cubs, the Detroit Lions, and the LA Clippers. There is no incentive for management to invest in improving the franchise when the fan base loyally rewards losing.

So we should just cancel the rest of the season right now? No need to play anymore games lets just forfeit. Way to go buddy! Nobody is blind everyone has a different perspective, but it is stupid to say that we have no shot when we are tied for the last damn wildcard spot.

Hey no arguments about RT I hope and pray is our answer. If he is we have a shot to win in the long term. I feel we need to give him at least 2 more years to see what he has. My point is though in the current we are not good enough because we are too inconsistent. We can't win the games we are supposed to because we have already demonstrated that by losing to Buffalo and TB. Then we win games we are not supposed to in Indy and Cincy. We are too inconsistent to predict which means we are probably going to finish middle of the pack at 7-9 or 8-8. That's not progress. Not yet but hopefully soon.

Ok, so you've given up on the season already. Don't get me wrong, you could be very right. I'd understand y'alls sort of talk if we were out of the playoff race. But we're very much in it. I'm out.

How do you think we match up against the Jets? There's no team I hate more than the Jets and I'll take 2-14 if you give me two wins against the Jets, but I really don't think we match up well against them. Their pass rush is gonna put Tannehill in the hospital unless Sherman comes up with some very creative game plan to neutralize it. And I don't think Sherman is up to that task.

Who said to cancel the season? You've lost the argument if you feel you need to set up strawmen to knock down.

We'll see. But I know I trust Tannehill a hell lot more than Geno. I like our chances very much at going 2-0 agaisnt them.

I trusted RT a heck of a lot more than Glennon last week and we saw how that went. RT and the team went won in New York last year and they certainly can again this year. But the Jets and the Dolphins are too unpredictable because they are too inconsistent

I kind of ingore many of the posters, I dont mind criticism but some take to "THE WORLD IS GOING TO END" mentality. We are 5-5 with the worse offensive line in NFL HISTORY. We shouldnt have this good of a record and our offense should not be as good as it is with this bad offensive line. I am amazed that we can put up 10 pts let alone 20 with the OL. With an average OL, this team would be sitting good in a playoff position. This fire everyone and replace every player, because of Jon Martin and the OL is ridiculous.

Been a fan since as long as I can remember. Through the tail end of Marino's career and through the 1-15 season to present. Regardless of whether it is ugly or if it is our only win of the season, I am genuinely happy after a victory. I understand we are not likely doing any damage if we make it to the playoffs. But I would like to watch a meaningful dolphins game regardless. Let the negative posters be. It is easy to see why they are skeptical even with a win. Just do yourself a favor and avoid reading the negative threads if you can help it

Yea I know there are a lot of teams over .500. I mentioned a few of them. My point was, there's a handful of dominant teams who I pointed out in another post. The other 27 or so teams? Have 6 wins or less... Everybody complaining of inconsistency needs to see that hardly anyone is being consistent this year.

You don't have to tell me there is parity in the league. Everyone knows that.

It's not just about the record, it's about who's ascending and who's decending. It's about the quality of your opponant. It's about how you win, not just if you manage to put up a "W." That's where the difference in teams are.

You don't have to ask other fans. Just look at the faces on the field, today. Look at Joe Philbin, Ross, and Tannehill. The exuberance is not there, because even they are disappointed, (and also because they have internal issues to deal with).

I don't post very often but Jesus Christ we lose everyone moans we win everyone moans why can't people enjoy the wins??????? I know we are not a Super Bowl team but come on we are in the playoff mix that is a fact all you haters get over it we are at.500 and currently around the last wild card spot all the negativity won't change that ! I understand we have more holes to fill than a Callander but all this hating all time is un called for?

90% of all the threads and posts are people knocking this player or this coach or this play call people need to loosen up I'm not delireous I'm not expecting a deep playoff run I'm hoping for a playoff wildcard challenge I think if we had another perfect season people on here would still be negative I'm not wearing rose tinted glasses I'm just saying our win puts us in the hunt with everything that has happened to us this season this is a positive so let's enjoys the wins guys!!!

Thing is, this wasn't really supposed to be a negative thread. I tried to avoid all the other negative threads and came to this one thinking it'd be more positive talk... nope.

I love reading the posting history of holier than thou people...from the thread starter in October:

The season is officially over for us now so where do we go from here?

Qb ive been a big tannehill fan but i do have my doubts now so are we looking for a franchise qb still? [\QUOTE]

We have all had our doubts this year, including you. Truth is that it's been a tough season for all of us as fans. I am fine with anyone saying anything, but when you take a stance against your fellow fans it helps to not be hypocritical.

Yes I'm glad you are sad you have gone to the trouble of researching my previous threads yes I have been negative towards this team as everyone has but those were posts after loses and ones after games where we have looked so god dam awful I couldn't see us winning any games even against a crappy sad team as everyone ranks them on here!

I think my opening post has been taken the wrong way it's been painted as I am a homer and all is good with this team that is far from the truth my point is enjoy the win embrace it and I wish people would stop looking at the negative plays and a little more towards what was better from the team in this game from the last !

I remember what it was like to win 10-12 games a year and do I want it back he'll yeah do I remember going 1-15 he'll yeah so I have been there through the good and bad times
