There is always players of varying levels of success that become available. Grier is obviously not afraid to pull the trigger on a big move so it makes sense to clear some cap in case a situation like a stud player that interests them becomes available. He is doing his to due diligence. Would it surprise me that he makes a move on a receiver, edge, rusher, or safety, not one bit

Before signing Wynn and Driscoll, maybe Peat would have been interesting.

Just not sure whether the Chubb restructure was just to create space for some of the recent signings.

Also, if we gave up #55 for Jennings………I’d be less than pleased. That would be a terrible move.
Pick #55 for a WR with 78 catches in 3 seasons seems like a pretty wild trade. Particularly when it’s a contract year for said player.
 
Grier is fighting for his job, and regardless of what some people think we are in win now mode. He’s got his eye on someone, just a matter of time if it happens or not. Fun, time to be a fin fan. Not sure we would give up a second for Jennings, but if so, John Lynch can turn **** into gold if given the opportunity.

Giving up the pick would be part of signing him to a long-term deal. Unless you were referring to his lack of production even in a contract year.

The lack of production in pure numbers is understandable, given Samuel, Aiyuk, and Kittle are battling for targets. Jennings is a decent player. He is just not worth the 55th pick.
