A Dolphins Relegious Thread?

I think a fan should always have optimism, they should try to be realistic but should have optimism. Don't worry about the destination, enjoy the journey. we are only 4-5 games into this season, it's way too early to worry about the playoffs. Your team played great last game, hope that becomes the norm then start eyeing January.

Well put. You should dump the Jets.

I do have faith in my apathy for this team.

Well the bible describes faith like this - Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
That's definitely any fan that has faith we will make playoffs.

Dictionairy definition- 4.Confident or unquestioning belief in the truth, value, or trustworthiness of a person, idea, or thing

I definitely have no confidence we wil make playoffs nor have a reason to

How many here believe, and have faith that this year's Dolphins team can make the playoffs, and maybe even win a game?

Your not aware of the denomination that has sprung up on here?

The Cult of Hartline has services every Sunday for 16 weeks of the year, then your encouraged to practice your beliefs on your own for the months of January-September. What Brian Hartline brings to your life is a 1000 yard season. Two of them in fact. These seemingly impossible miracles have inspired great faith in his followers(who are known as "Chain-Movers"). Scoring touchdowns is merely an element of pagan institutions and are denounced as heresy. As well, according to those belonging to the church the constant rumors of a sex scandal between Hartline and a mound of turf are completely baseless and nothing more than lies spread by secular heathens trying to shake the faith of those who have accepted Hartline into their lives.

Join the Cult of Hartline today and let the thousand yards enter your heart.

I'm not sure if I would consider this a religious question. I believe this team has the ability to make the playoffs and heck even win the superbowl. However, I wouldn't bet the house on either of those possibilities (at this point the Jets nor the Jaqs have not been eliminated from the playoffs). I have always felt the success of this year comes down to Tannehill. If he does well, so will the team. So far his play has been inconsistent thus our record is 2-2. If he gets hot and plays to his potential, then we are playoff bound. The only religious consideration is a "Hail Mary" pass before the end of the first half against the Bills instead of running out the clock.
A lot of people have said it comes down to Tannehill, myself included. But one thing that beating the cheatriots' asses taught me was that we can win against teams that disguise defensive stuff pre snap, as long as we have a very very good running game. Knowshon enabled Tannehill to not only throw less often and limit potential mistakes (like any QB), but also to throw against a team that had to commit to stopping the run. IF Tannehill can continue to be good enough to handle those defenses with a good run game, we could beat some more teams who force him to make reads after the snap. That means some games that were probably almost certain to be losses, could become wins IMO. But if the run game fails against those defenses, I think we are still generally screwed though. So in a way it still comes down to him, but I honestly think you can make a pretty good projection on wins and losses with Tannehill if you look at how defenses move coverages (pre or post snap). But the running game may be able to get us over the hump if it comes through like it did in week 1.

I hope that the team makes the playoffs but I don't see this as a matter of seeking divine intervention to succeed. We might be good enough with the talent assembled.
I am foreign and a non-believer. I don't think that praying to a God has anything to do with how the team performs (although I'm sure that a stack of players and coaches would disagree). I love the team with a passion but as a non-believer, I don't think that team success has anything to do with religion.
Feel free to char-grill me.

I believe in God. That said, If you really beieve God was involved in mundane things such as football you'd have to think Tim Tebow would be a HOF'er.

Are we actually allowed to mention religion here? I'll be darned. I got warned on a golf forum two weeks ago because I had the audacity to point out that the American players who are members of the weekly bible study group on the PGA Tour have lousy records in the Ryder Cup. It was perfectly valid and on ongoing trend, particularly since it's well known that that group has received extreme benefit of a doubt in recent captain's selections, like Webb Simpson this year. Apparently the forum didn't want to deal with that topic at all, even in passing reference.

True story: As a kid I prayed throughout the offseason and during the 1972 season that the Dolphins would, "win every game." The following year I changed it to merely, "win the Super Bowl." The following year I guess I was satisfied, so I gave up and have never resumed anything of that type. Of course, my beliefs changed as I aged. I like to be on the side of greatest probability.

I only believe if Lazor O takes off. its still early.
