Hi man. It has to do with the permissions set on new members or "practice squad" members. Once you move to the "Active Roster" several other functions will become available.

New users need to make a few posts and get a few likes to be elevated to the Active Roster, which gives you access to editing your signature, create your own threads etc.

PS there is no hazing ceremony, regardless of what @JamesWsenior will try to trick you into
