a little tidbit of info

I agree, note I didn't claim that Rickey is damaged goods, but that some may argue that he is. I too think it's better to treat each year as a stand-alone project, for the reason you mentioned above.

Finzfan, are you or were you in the military? Kill them all and let God sort them out is what we used to say in the 82nd. Just asking.

Yes indeed - is it that obvious? lol Army, Air Force, Marine Corps? Nope. I am an 18 yr. Navy vet. (yes, 18, not 20) Sorry to bring tis to the board... now we can get back to dolphin stuff..:goof:

Past history has shown that Saban does not go with just 1 RB. He likes to mix it up, keeping fresh legs and change of pace. I would doubt any RB, including Ricky, will get as many carries per season as seen under Wanny. I feel Saban likes to have at least 2 quality RB's that compliment one another rather than being a clone of each other. For example, a speed guy and a power guy. Saban loves to keep a defense off-balance. He may be a defensive minded coach, but he knows what can cause a defense to get on their heals and be reactive. Keep this in mind as you are watching the RB depth chart and guessing who may stay or be cut. Just some thoughts to keep with you.

Thank you for that reminder. It sounds like a certain other NFL coach's methods and is really sound coaching. Thinking about it can wear me out too.:goof:

Well I personally believe if you draft a guy with the 2nd overall pick, he's going to get the majority of the carries.

Ronnie Brown is not a Dolphin. Ricky is the best back on this team right now. Ricky is also probably a 1 year and out, so we all better hope that Ronnie is as good or better thatn Ricky.

In my humble opinion, Ricky USED to be one of the best backs in the NFL, we all hope he still is. Ronnie should be one of the best backs in the NFL, we all hope he will be. The combination of Ricky and Ronnie sure sounds a lot more impressive to me than Gordon and Minor (or whoever) and I am sure it sounds worse to every defensive coordinator in the league. As far as Ronnie's contract, I don't really blame either side. The Dolphins have a salary cap to manage and Ronnie has a responsibility to get a fair deal. Also Ronnie has a responsibility to the team, but the team knew full well they would have to ante up for the 2nd overall pick in the draft. If they didn't want to pay the price they should have traded the pick for several lower picks. Last but not least, while scouting college players isn't an exact science it isn't exactly tarot cards either. Everyone knew Ricky was a stud when he came out of Texas, everyone knows Ronnie is now. Chances are very slim that Ronnie will be a bust. Ronnie was in the offseason OTAs, he has a copy of the playbook and knows his assignments. It won't take him 5 weeks to get his timing with the team. Be patient and let things take their course, all is well once again in Dolphin land!

Is ronnie Brown the future running back of the miami dolphins? i dont know but what i do know is that saban will play the best player period! and i dont care what these players do off the field, i do care what they do on the field and ricky williams is a better player than ronnie brown when both players are at there best. and anyone who says that he isnt, then your saying that ronnie brown will be the best RB in the league, because i feel thats what ricky was when he played and i have cowboy and patriot fans say the same, its just a fact. but it all boils down to this, the dolphins front office and ronnie brown are probally at a stalemate because there probally saying that in week 5 ricky will be starting and they feel that lamar gordon can be a good plug in until then so why pay a man all this money when he can ride the pine so there going to make there offer and not budge because they dont need to. ronnie will sign for what we offer its just the person he is, he will realize that we have a ton of rbs and he will want to get in camp to fight for the starting spot because if he does that he will play the first 4 weeks if he grasps the playbook and that will give him a good shot at beating out ricky if he plays WELL but i wont sweat it if he doesnt sign.

You owe me 3 clicks...
