A question to feeley haters?

Feeley will never be good in this league give him Ogden,Pace,HArtwig,Gallery,Shields and Ladainian Tomlinson and MOss Owens Gonzalez and he will still suck of a$$. The guy is a Tedford Qb these qbs are no good look at Harrington he has weapons and he cant use them now MAriucci brought in Pollard and Williams, he still wont pan out the guy is hoorible and so if Feeley, Miami needs a qb and this team is set.Marino never had a running game and the D was decent , now that we have a running game and a good defense we have no qb. We have to get Leinart nex year no matter what even if it takes our 1st and next years 1st for Leinart, Hes the next great qb.

I am pretty sure Norm and Wanny did away with the Audibles. The last couple years the play stays the same from when it was called. No matter how the defense lines up. Even AJ said something about it last year. He made a comment during a practice about it.

Wanny never gave him the chance with the offense, since Fiedler was his boy. Wanny had no intentions of giving AJ a fair chance.

Now we will get to see if he has what it takes, if he doesn't then we can move on and not have another 3-5yr Fiedler episode. :)

Well trust is a large part of giving a qb the option to audible. Given our options at qb last year i certainly would not have trusted the 2 idiots we had with that responsibility. Personally i hope gus beats him out in camp; which is imo highly likely since aj is a terrible practice player.

I want AJ to beat out Gus. Since AJ could be in the league longer then Gus. If he pans out that is. Wanny didn't like AJ since AJ could see right thru Wanny. I watched to see the shambles Wanny left Chicago in, he did the same to us.

We don't owe it to AJ as much as we owe it to ourselves to see what he can do. We can't just throw a 2nd rounder away on half a season of play. Brett Farve didn't become good in one year. Some it takes longer to develope, and some never do.

The odds are against any new QB coming into the league. There are more failure stories then there is success.

I myself think AJ has more upside then Gus. But yes AJ is not a good practice player. May the best one win.

Longevity shouldnt be a factor. Its win now; thats the nature of this league. Its why coaches get paid so much and pressure + scrutiny is always intense. We have a better option in frerotte he should be starting imo. I dont care if we gave up 10 1sts; thats the stupidity of the previous regime and should not factor into sabans decision making.

As far as your point on developing QB's id be ok with taht if i felt our qb actually had the upside to justify the wait. As you can tell im far from that impression with crumby AJ.

What about David Carr?? He may not be setting the NFL's passing records, but he's not exactly a bust either..

Anyhow, here's my opinion on what I think the Dolphins should/will do.. Granted, this is only my opinion.. I don't have any "sources" nor do I pretend to believe in crap like crystal balls.. So take this for just what it is..

Should AJ beat out Ferrotte in training camp, I think he'll be given the season, barring injury or total Ryan Leaf embarrassment on the stat sheets. I think Ferrotte was brought in just to have that safety net.. Should he beat out Feeley, he knows Linehan's system well and could be the viable short term option while Miami prepares to scout the QBs in next year's draft.

However, if Feeley does indeed win the job, I see him keeping it and getting the chance to show the coaching staff what he's capable of doing, what his limitations are and what he can bring to the table for the future. Either way, I think 2005 is clearly going to be a trial run for Feeley and it's going to be a "Prove it or else" type of season.

Either way, I think it's a win-win.. If he stinks up the joint and is benched, Ferrotte has the experience under Linehan to know how to run his system and guys like Omar Jacobs or Matt Linehart could be for the taking in the '06 draft. If Feeley plays well, shows glimpses of becoming the next Matt Hasselbeck, even better yet.

One thing out of fairness to Feeley.. The guy is going to make mistakes.. Name me one QB who doesn't. It's not the mistakes he makes, it's the progress he makes in improving those flaws that will determine whether or not he's the long term option. Keep an open mind on this and remember.. What's the worst that could happen?? Isn't like they can fall out of last place.

I think this is his year to shine if he ever will. No excuses after this year. Last year wouldnt be fair to base on. Too many things happened.

I just don't think we can judge him accurately based on last year.

Give him a REAL offensive system with a REAL offensive line and a REAL running back and see how he does.

How can you base his past season ? The whole team sucked including MARE, We were just awful last year as a team. I truly hope this year he will at least a chance to show what he can do !

We owe it to our team to let him go out and start for the year. If he sucks, great - if he's good even better. I know all these arm chair QB's say he doesn't have any pocket presence and isn't intelligent. Anyone care to post a link or enlighten me on how they got this info, or were they in the huddle. Now this may be true, but the Feeley I saw made some poor passes but he also peeled himself off the ground about 40 times and seemed to never complain. I say roll with Feeley all year to fully evaluate what we have. I think its pretty funny that everyone is in Brown's jock already and what has he done. He could be the next Blair Thomas for all we know (god I hope not). One thing is for sure he's played more amateur games than Feeley has ever played. Give the guy a break he's started what, 15 games and played in 20 for his career. There are some other great QB's that got off to a notoriously slow start.

I don't hate him. I don't have a feel for how he will develop. I did see improvement from his first few games throughout the rest of the dreadful season and, don't see how any rational person COULDN'T have some doubt that he has to be cut some slack in light of the dreadful lineplay and zero running game we had last year. Just looking at it from an as objective point as I can, you've got to hope he can develop rather than throw away a 2nd round pick on the guy. The thing most troubling about his play, for me, is that although he delivered when it counted in a few situations, he just doesn't look comfortable. Then again, it was a tough, tough situation for OTJ training.

I think the staff OWES it to the organization to give him a very serious opportunity to develop unless they believe there's some aspect about him that he can't get beyond.

The operative word in your post is "rational". Most of the Feeley haters don't fit that description.

i dont hate him......he doesnt have the leadership, or anything to get us to the super bowl

And you determined all that just by watching him last season. Wow, you are something special.

why do you guys hate him so much? i know he had a bad year last year and we gave up to much for him but he is a dolphin and he is our qb. the guy showed flashes last year maybe he will get better maybe he wont, but this i know if it was a rookie in there last year throwing all them int's you guys yould say ahh he is a rookie its just growing pains! feeley was pretty much a rookie last year new team new system and not to metion the worst o-line and rushing game in the nfl give the guy a chance this year and then if he stinks it up then start saying he sucks!

I don't like Feeley. I don't think he is good nor do I think he will be. Five years from now, (if Feeley were to still be onthis team) people would still make excuses for him - much like some did for Fiedler. Thankfully, we don't have a cpach that will settle for less than mediocrity for so long.
